The Buyer directly reporting to the Group Chief Procurement Officer is responsible for leading the sourcing and procurement activities of Ligabue Maas-Riva. The role ensures that supplier management, procurement strategy and system data integrity are executed in alignment with company objectives. The position combines strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and operational excellence to ensure efficiency, compliance, and cost control across all procurement activities.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Define and implement procurement strategies that support the company’s operational and financial goals.
- Align procurement policies with company strategy, compliance requirements, and sustainability principles.
- Ensure effective cross-departmental/ cross Group coordination between procurement, finance, and operations.
Supplier Management
- Source, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to strengthen and diversify supplier base.
- Maintain and improve relationships with existing suppliers to secure quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Lead supplier performance reviews, contract negotiations, and corrective action processes.
- Monitor supplier compliance with quality, delivery, safety, and ethical standards in according with logistic and quality department.
Procurement Operations
- Oversee the accuracy and integrity of all procurement-related data within the ERP.
- Ensure that all price lists, supplier records, and product data are up to date and consistent.
- Monitor purchasing trends, lead times, and cost developments to support operational decision-making.
- Drive process standardization and efficiency in purchasing workflows.
- Safeguard internal controls and adherence to company procedures.
Performance & Reporting
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for procurement performance.
- Provide regular reporting and insights to the Management Team on suppliers performance, cost savings, and risk exposure.
- Identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective measures where necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Maximum 3-4 year experience in Sourcing, Supply Chain Management in structured organisations
- Excellent skills in the procurement of maritime supplies
- Professional background in the food sector, including companies in large-scale food retail and of customs processes is a plus
- Demonstrated success in RFQ management, supplier negotiations, vendor management
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite. SAP is a plus.
- Dutch and fluent in English are mandatory
