We are a Georgian restaurant in Rotterdam looking for an experienced Specialist Cook in Georgian Cuisine to join our kitchen team.
We are looking for a professional with at least 5 years of demonstrable work experience in traditional Georgian cuisine. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience preparing authentic Georgian dishes and is able to work independently at a professional restaurant level.
A key part of the position is the preparation of khinkali and different types of khachapuri. The candidate must have strong practical knowledge of dough preparation, correct dough thickness, fillings, shaping and cooking/baking techniques. Broad knowledge and experience in preparing a variety of other traditional Georgian dishes is also required.
Responsibilities
- Independently prepare traditional Georgian dishes
- Prepare khinkali and different types of khachapuri to a consistent professional standard
- Prepare dough, fillings and other mise-en-place
- Maintain authentic taste, texture, appearance and portion consistency
- Prepare and organise the kitchen before service
- Work efficiently and accurately during busy restaurant services
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and kitchen standards
- Work closely with the rest of the kitchen team
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrable professional experience in traditional Georgian cuisine
- Extensive practical experience with khinkali and khachapuri
- Broad knowledge of traditional Georgian dishes and preparation techniques
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to maintain consistent quality and presentation
- Comfortable working in a busy professional kitchen
- Reliable, organised and able to work as part of a team
- English sufficient for communication in the workplace; Dutch is not required
What we offer
- Full-time position
- €3,000 gross per month, with opportunities for salary growth based on performance, experience and responsibilities.
