Role Overview:
Genesys is looking for a candidate based in the Netherlands to join its legal team as a Legal Intern. Start your legal career by gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic and rapidly growing technology environment, while directly contributing to the success of a leading AI-powered customer and employee experience orchestration platform.
In this role, you will be part of the EMEA Legal team, contributing to (and gaining insights form) day-to-day legal operations (including other departments across the wider Genesys Legal team) and working closely with internal business partners supporting commercial contract negotiation, sales and business-related legal matters.
This is an excellent opportunity for law students who are interested in technology law, motivated, organized, curious, and eager to learn in a collaborative, multicultural, and fast-paced environment.
This position is an internship for educational and professional development purposes. The internship will be documented in a written internship agreement. The intern’s activities will be supervised and structured to support learning and development.
What You'll Learn:
- Gain exposure to the work of the EMEA Legal team and develop an understanding of how legal and business-related matters are handled in an international in-house legal environment.
- Build practical knowledge of commercial contracts by observing and, under supervision, contributing to the review of materials relating to:
o Cloud services and SaaS agreements
o Channel partner agreements
o Software license and support agreements
o Professional services agreements
- Learn how legal documents are organized, approved, signed, and maintained throughout their lifecycle.
- Develop insight into how legal teams support sales-related processes, including complex RFP responses, internal business requests, and cross-functional projects.
- Gain broad exposure to different areas of in-house legal practice, including compliance, regulatory, privacy, and IP matters, through supervised collaboration with experienced team members.
- Learn how templates and playbooks are maintained to support consistency, accuracy, and practical legal knowledge sharing.
- Develop professional communication skills by observing and participating in interactions with internal stakeholders and business partners across different teams and countries.
- Learn how legal teams promote best practices, process consistency, and compliance with internal policies.
- Gain practical familiarity with tools such as Word, Excel, Salesforce, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, Teams, DocuSign, AI tools, and other internal systems used in legal workflows, in accordance with Genesys policies and applicable data protection, confidentiality, and information security requirements.
What You'll Bring:

You are enrolled in the final year of an LL.B. program in Dutch or European law, or are currently pursuing an LL.M., preferably with a focus on business law, contract law, commercial law, technology law, privacy law, or a related field.

You are enrolled in an academic program in the Netherlands for the entire duration of the internship.

You are fluent in English. Proficiency in an additional European language is a plus

You are curious, motivated, collaborative and eager to learn and progress.
