EP NL operates in the Dutch energy sector. Procurement is organized across the EP NL organization, with a central procurement function supporting efficient, consistent, and compliant procurement processes across the organization.
The Procurement Operations Support is part of the Procurement Department and works within the central procurement function. The role supports the effective execution, monitoring, and continuous improvement of operational procurement processes, with a focus on the day-to-day procurement process from purchase request to purchase order, supplier coordination, procurement administration, reporting, and process improvement.
The position is based at the headquarters in Middelburg and primarily supports the operational procurement process from this location. In addition, the role works closely with procurement colleagues at the assets and provides operational back-up for the Buyer at the Sloe power plant and, where required, for the Buyer at the Rijnmond power plant.
The Procurement Operations Support reports to the Procurement Manager and works closely with internal stakeholders across EP NL, including asset-based procurement colleagues, operations and technical teams, budget holders, finance, and administrative support functions.
1. Operational Procurement Execution: Responsible for the day-to-day execution and coordination of the operational procurement process for the Middelburg-based organization. This includes supporting the process from purchase request to purchase order, monitoring accuracy, completeness and lead times, requesting quotations, comparing offers, and challenging or negotiating suppliers within the operational mandate and process framework.
2. Supplier coordination: Acts as a point of contact for suppliers in the mid-tier and non-strategic segment. Handles day-to-day supplier matters, signals operational issues related to deliveries, invoicing, or agreements, and escalates where needed. Also supports and monitors the supplier evaluation cycle for the mid-tier and non-strategic segment.
3. Process Improvement, Standardization & Implementation: Supports the continuous improvement and further standardization of the operational procurement process across EPNL. Identifies bottlenecks, inconsistencies and improvement opportunities in daily practice, supports improvement proposals, contributes to testing new initiatives, and helps ensure timely and correct implementation across the organization.
4. Compliance, Governance & Document Control: Supports compliance with internal procurement guidelines, approval flows and applicable ISO standards. Helps ensure that operational procurement activities are properly documented and that procurement administration, contracts and related documentation are correctly processed and filed in cooperation with the administrative department.
5. Reporting: Supports the collection and consolidation of operational procurement reporting, providing insight into procurement activity, process performance, process adherence and areas for further improvement.
6. Coordination with Locations: Works closely with procurement colleagues at the assets to support the consistent application of the operational procurement process across EPNL. Participates in and supports monthly procurement meetings at the different locations to identify bottlenecks, align on operational procurement matters and support demand forecasting.
7. Operational Back-up & Support: Acts as operational back-up for the Buyer at the Sloe power plant and, where required, for the Buyer at the Rijnmond power plant, supporting continuity of procurement activities when needed.
Bachelor’s degree or hbo working and thinking level, preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field.
Work experience is not required; recent graduates and starters are welcome.
Affinity with procurement, operational processes, and administrative accuracy.
Basic understanding of procure-to-pay and operational procurement processes is considered a plus.
Affinity with systems and digital tools; knowledge of AFAS is considered a plus.
Comfortable working in a structured environment with internal guidelines, approval flows, and compliance requirements.
Interest in continuous improvement, process standardization, and supporting operational excellence across the organization.

Minimum salary from € 3,472 gross a month on a fulltime contract. Salary scale depends on qualifications and work experience. Depending on relevant knowledge and experience, an entry-level scale may also apply.
