Job Profile: Project Manager Apprentice
Purpose of the Role
The Project Manager Apprentice supports experienced project managers in planning, executing, and completing projects within a technical environment. In this role, he/she acts as a central coordinator and learns to manage projects through close collaboration, data analysis, and proactive information gathering from various stakeholders.
Position in the Organization
Reports to: Project Manager / Senior Project Manager
Works closely with: Project Managers, Finance, project team members, suppliers, and other internal stakeholders
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Supporting project managers with project planning, progress tracking, and control
Acting as a central point of contact and connecting link between the project, finance, and other stakeholders
Collecting, analyzing, and understanding project and financial data
Proactively gathering information from various stakeholders (project teams, finance, suppliers)
Preparing and maintaining progress reports, overviews, and dashboards
Supporting budget monitoring, forecasts, and cost analyses in collaboration with Finance
Identifying deviations, risks, and dependencies and raising them for discussion
Recording and structuring project information, decisions, and actions
Contributing to the continuous improvement of project and reporting processes
Authority
Taking initiative to independently gather necessary information
Making proposals to improve project control and data quality
Coordinating sub-activities within projects in consultation
Job Requirements
Education and Experience
Completed or ongoing higher education degree (HBO/WO) (e.g., business administration, engineering, IT, or similar)
Some relevant work experience (e.g., internship, traineeship, or junior role)
Affinity with project management in a technical industry
Knowledge and Skills
Strong ability to understand, analyze, and connect data
Ability to quickly create an overview of complex information
Experience with or strong affinity for financial and project data
SAP experience is a plus, but not required
Proficient in MS Excel and other reporting and project tools
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Good command of Dutch and English
