Role: The Treasury Strategy Lead is a senior strategic generalist operating across Treasury and Finance. The role partners with Treasury and Finance subject matter experts to define and evolve the Treasury operating model, financial flow design, and target-state processes required to support new products, travel solutions, and business models across Booking.com and Booking Holdings brands.
This role leads specific workstreams and complex strategic initiatives that support business growth, operational scalability, and compliance. Typical areas of focus include product verticals, Connected Trip initiatives, regulated payments, new travel products and services The Treasury Strategy Lead acts as a trusted business partner to Treasury SMEs, wider Finance, FinTech, Product, and other business units, coordinating cross-functional input and driving alignment across stakeholders.
A primary responsibility of the role is to translate product, commercial, and functional requirements into viable end-to-end fund-flow and operating-model designs. This includes assessing economic and commercial implications, identifying Treasury and Finance impacts, evaluating financial and operational risks, and ensuring proposed solutions align with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and governance standards. In close partnership with risk owners and relevant first-line SMEs, the role drives the design of the Treasury and Finance target operating model and supports implementation through clear requirements, structured decision-making, and end-to-end oversight.
The Treasury Strategy Lead is also expected to manage internal and external stakeholders effectively, influence decisions with articulate analytics, clear documentation, governance with clear roles & responsibilities, and communicate effectively to (senior) management and leadership to move initiatives forward and deliver results.
In addition, the role contributes thought leadership by identifying market developments and by promoting the practical use of technologies such as RPA, machine learning, and AI to improve processes, effectiveness, controls, and scalability forward and deliver results.

Key responsibility:

Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end financial architecture, fund flows, and Treasury
enablement for new products, commercial models, and strategic initiatives. -
Support Accommodation, Connected Trip initiatives such as Flights, Insurance, Attractions, Ground Transport, and multi-product offerings, as well as BHFS and other regulated financial services activities.

Define the Treasury and Finance target operating model for new initiatives, ensuring sound risk management, regulatory compliance, safeguarding of funds, and in line with Booking Holdings policies and governance.

Assess the value chain deliverables, financial economics, and Treasury and Finance impacts of proposed solutions, and develop clear, data-driven recommendations.

Collaborate with Treasury SMEs and risk owners to evaluate Treasury-related risks, including FX, liquidity, counterparty, regulatory, and operational risk

Partner with banks, FinTech, vendors, and internal or external counsel on regulatory due diligence, fund-flow design, implementation planning, risk assessment, and commercial discussions.

Define and monitor key KPIs, insights, and management reporting for strategic initiatives, and support recurring monitoring and reporting to track delivery and value.

Drive process improvement, automation, and scalable ways of working across Treasury and Finance

Translate regulatory developments across key markets into meaningful insights and advisory to stakeholders for effective decision making and scalable financial setups.

Act as a lead business partner across Booking Holding brands and Treasury, Finance, FinTech, Legal, Tax, BHFS, and other business units to align requirements, coordinate delivery, and communicate progress, issues, and mitigations.

Promote innovation, best practices, and adherence to Treasury and Booking Holdings policies, while coaching junior team members and supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key skills and experience:

5–8 years of experience in Finance or a related field. A professional treasury qualification, such as CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) or AMCT (Diploma in Treasury Management, ACT), would be an advantage.

Excellent English speaker with strong communication skills, able to adapt style and approach in order to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders from a variety of different cultures;

Post-graduate Master degree/ specialized advanced diploma in Finance or Treasury Management is an advantage;

Seasoned Treasury and Financial Services professional with previous experiences in core Treasury and Financial Services functions such as financial technology (FinTech), FX management, money market, cash management, risk management, banking relationship management.

Able to keep the overview of several complex tasks / projects that run at the same time;

Strong systems knowledge and experiences with systems such as SWIFT, SAP, Market Mata Sources (E.g. S&P Capital IQ, Bloomberg), Tableau/ BI reporting tooling. Understanding of data queries and analytical tools such as (but not limited to) SQL and Python is a plus and various modern AI tools.

Strong passion for innovation and disruptive technology such as artificial intelligence and machine learning;

Experienced in project implementation and/ or change management;
