Description
The Junior Field Engineer will be involved in very early evaluations of our Prototypes and HW Systems on different wireless technologies, including performance metrics creation/evolution, post processing and analysis of trace log from the field. It also includes running focused experiments in relationship to RF/OTA performance, acoustics, thermals, GPS Validation etc.
The successful candidate will be working with several multi-functional teams and perform deep dive analysis into internal logs to understand and identify root cause of any HW/SW System issues.","responsibilities":"Conduct early-stage evaluations of Apple prototypes and hardware/software systems across 4G and 5G wireless technologies.
Execute focused field experiments to assess RF/OTA performance on wireless technologies including LTE and 5G NR.
Prepare and maintain test devices for field evaluations, including physical setup, software installation, and ongoing upkeep.
Travel to designated test locations to perform field evaluations under both stationary and mobility conditions.
Perform post-processing of diagnostic logs and carry out preliminary debugging during and after field test execution.
Apply RF fundamentals to conduct deep-dive analysis of internal logs, identifying root causes impacting hardware and system performance.
Generate comprehensive system performance test reports highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs).
Review and analyze field data, present findings and insights to peers, partners, and management, and propose actionable design improvements.
Continuously improve existing processes and maintain up-to-date technical documentation.
Manage device inventory and equipment logistics for both lab and field testing operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Good interpersonal and proven written/verbal communication skills
Detail oriented, analytic, proactive, able to work independently and committed in getting things right.
Comfortable with working on hardware and in supporting engineering in debugging/reproducing hard to reproduce issues.
Basic understanding of mobile network infrastructures
Able to travel locally and internationally
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunication Engineering
Live network test experience with the ability to identify specific test scenarios
Solid understanding with practical experience in wireless technologies (LTE/5G)
