VATAHA is seeking a volunteer Social Media Manager to join our communications team and help raise awareness of the social and educational events through which we promote Ukrainian culture across the Netherlands.
We are looking for a creative and digitally savvy individual who can dedicate 4-5 hours per week, is passionate about social media, and has a talent for engaging storytelling and content creation.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and manage content calendars for VATAHA’s Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and WhatsApp channels.
- Coordinate social media content with other teams within VATAHA.
- Create and schedule engaging posts to promote our events and initiatives.
- Coordinate tasks related to social media interactions and events coverage with the social media team.
- Analyse social media-related KPIs and prepare reports, providing recommendations to improve reach and engagement.
- Collaborate on developing visuals for social media posts when needed.
Required qualifications:
- Available for 4-5 hours per week and comfortable working in a remote setting.
- Based in the Netherlands, preferably around/in Amsterdam.
- Professional fluency in English; knowledge of Ukrainian and/or Dutch is an advantage.
- Professional education in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Social Media Manager, Digital Marketer, or in a similar role with leadership responsibilities.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and scheduling tools.
- Strong understanding of social media platform algorithms, particularly Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Excellent storytelling, communication, and copywriting skills.
- Proactive and flexible, with strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and take initiative.
- Open to constructive feedback and continuous learning.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with team members and delegating tasks when appropriate.
- Commitment to and support for Ukrainian independence and sovereignty.
Preferred qualifications:
- Candidates who expect to remain in the Netherlands for an extended period and can make a long-term commitment to the role will be given preference.
- Familiarity with social media analytics tools and search engine optimisation (SEO), as well as the ability to use insights to improve engagement and performance.
