Freelance Dutch (NL-NL) Language Manager

We are currently looking for an experienced Dutch (NL-NL) Language Manager on behalf of one of our largest and longest-standing clients – a globally recognized and highly respected international digital platform.
About the Role
This position goes beyond traditional translation and localization work. We are looking for a true in-market language and content partner who can provide linguistic expertise, cultural insights, and content guidance while collaborating closely with international stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support Dutch-language content initiatives for the Netherlands market
- Provide linguistic and cultural market expertise and recommendations
- Support localized marketing, SEO, and GEO-related content initiatives
- Create, maintain, and evolve glossaries, style guides, and linguistic resources
- Review content and provide feedback to translators and language vendors
- Perform MTPE, translation, and editing tasks where required
- Collaborate directly with client stakeholders through regular meetings and communication
- Participate in weekly Zoom calls and ongoing content discussions
- Help ensure linguistic consistency and content quality across multiple content types and channels
Requirements
- Native Dutch speaker (NL-NL only; unfortunately, NL-BE profiles cannot be considered for this role)
- Native-level command of English
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in translation, editing, localization, content management, language management, or a related field
- Strong understanding of marketing communication and content localization
- Familiarity with SEO and/or GEO-related content
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working in a Mac OS environment
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with international teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Language Manager, Content Manager, Localization Manager, or similar role
- Experience creating and maintaining style guides and glossaries
- Experience providing linguistic feedback and quality guidance to translators
- Familiarity with digital content ecosystems, online platforms, and marketing workflows
