YOUR ROLE
As the Field Technician at Four Growers, you will be an integral part of our success, providing on-location value to our customers. The Field Service Technician will install, configure, and maintain robotic harvesting systems and related hardware at customer greenhouses. Daily responsibilities include performing routine inspections, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hardware issues, and coordinating repairs to ensure minimal downtime. The role involves documenting service activities, providing technical support to farm operators, and collaborating with engineering teams to report field performance and suggest improvements. The technician will also follow safety protocols, maintain tools and equipment.
NEEDED EDUCATION
High school degree, trade school degree or technical certification preferred
NEEDED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with industrial maintenance (mechanical and electrical devices).
- Ability to recognize and troubleshoot common mechanical and electrical components independently
- Hands-on technical skills in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronic systems, including experience with tools, wiring, and component replacement.
- Experience with reading technical documentation such as schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
- Strong communication and customer service skills to interact with farm operators and internal teams in a clear, professional manner.
- Capacity to work independently in the field, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple service requests.
- Proficiency working with computers
- Strong independent problem solving capabilities
- Experience with documenting and reporting technical issues
- Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
- Must have reliable personal mode of transportation to work
- Excellent communication skills with a professional demeanor in all interactions.
- Strong ethical standards, work ethic, and must be a self-starter.
- Written and verbal proficiency in English
BONUS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Understanding of the AgTech Industry as it relates to greenhouse operations.
- Competency around international electrical standards
- Familiarity with tool selection and procurement
- Verbal proficiency in Dutch
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift, carry, and move products up to and over 50 pounds
- Frequent sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, and walking.
- Ability to work in warm greenhouse conditions every day.
DETAILS
Location: Venlo, Netherlands
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the Netherlands
Contract Term: Six-months with potential to extend contract based on performance
Shift Schedule - Day: Monday - Friday 07:00 – 15:00
Shift Schedule - Evening: Monday - Friday 12:00 – 20:00
Salaris: €51.000,00 - €52.000,00 per jaar
