About us
Within Damen Global Support Group, the IT & Information Management (IT&IM) department drives digital innovation and value creation across the organization. The Innovators product focuses on accelerating business value by enabling automation and guided innovation, ensuring solutions are secure, reusable, and aligned with the One Damen digital strategy. Innovators enables teams across Damen to explore new technologies, run structured experiments and deliver measurable business value.
The role
You will work as part of Innovators, focusing on identifying, experimenting with, and validating emerging technologies (especially on automation). The assignment for this internship will be co-defined with the product owner. To give some insight into the possibilities, you mostly will work on multiple use cases in different areas of expertise within IT&IM, and contribute to delivering value to the organization as an Intern within the Innovators.
Key Accountabilities
- Identify and define innovation opportunities together with product owner
- Conduct experiments (PoCs/pilots) using AI and automation platforms
- Measure and validate business value
- Document findings and propose scale or stop decisions
- Contribute to standardized innovation practices
- Present outcomes to stakeholders
Skills & Experience
This assignment is intended for a Bachelor or Master student in Computer Science, Data Science, Business IT, or a similar study, with:
- Strong interest in digital automation;
- You have an analytical mindset;
- Excellent communication skills in English;
- Experience with different tools such as Python, low-code platforms or process automations;
- Fulltime or minimum of three days availability from September 2026 onwards;
- You are hands-on and eager to take on this project!
