Business Data Analyst
Some background on ROCK:
ROCK, which stands for Risk Based on Customer Knowledge, started as a Project in the CARE program and focused on the setup of a tool which supported the AML/CDD process within DLL. Later a web-portal called Rock n Load was added into the landscape to trigger events which leads to a (re-)scoring of a Customer including screening against global and local watchlists. Next step was adding Transaction Monitoring to the tool and ART as well as PowerBI (for compliance reports) and Transaction Monitoring Factory. The ART of “ROCK” is expanding and focusses on Global/Corporate tools supporting Compliance, Risk and Legal domains, a current hot topic nowadays refers to Financial Economic Crime (FEC).
In the role of Business Data Analyst, your are going to work in the ROCK Agile Release Train in which you are responsible for a variety of activities as you are going to:
- Be a linking pin between external ongoing projects, the ROCK Product Owners, the solution architects and agile engineers;
- Be a SME around the data related to the ROCK Tooling, so that you can judge the impact on the data flow in case of changes, during incidents/problems and reporting;
- Support the Product Owners in requirements gathering, so that they can perform backlog management based on the overall strategy and business objectives;
- Be a key member in the Enablers track of the Product Vision and Roadmap, in which you are working ahead of the Scrum Teams;
- Support the Scrum Teams during the development and implemented process of the Business Features derived from the Enablers work.
Below the key responsibilities of the Business Analyst are listed:
- Learning the market and customers’ needs;
- Serving as a liaison between product management, architecture and the business;
- Support the solution design and Product Management in driving the vision and roadmap;
- Support the full ROCK Art during the continuous improvements;
- Be the SME around the Data Lineage, Data Quality and Data Management of all Data in the ROCK Tooling.
Day to day:
- Deep process understanding and the ability to explain (through data);
- Understanding of concepts of data management, data governance, data quality;
- Experience with and/or understanding of regulations with regards to secure data accuracy, integrity and sensitiveness;
- Good stakeholder management;
- Proactive and clear communication skills;
- Strong data analysis skills combined with strong data model understanding;
- Being able to link technical solutions or changes with business impact;
- Ability to prepare dashboards/reports to share the data analysis results;
- Requirements gathering of upcoming projects.
Technical Skills:
- Excel (advanced);
- SQL (Databricks) or Python;
- Data modeling;
- BI tools (Power BI).

Essentials:
In the role of Business Data Analyst, you will work closely together with people from different cultures and with different backgrounds. This gives you the ability to increase your Business, Risk, Compliance and IT knowledge rapidly. Also, your stakeholder management and particularly requirements gathering skills are challenged since you are in contact with multiple stakeholders in diverse roles and processes.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial institutions;
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the maintenance of systems;
- Ability to translate functional requirements into IT capabilities and vice versa;
- Ability to manage a large group of diverse stakeholders;
- Experience in building the bridge between IT and business and between risk, compliance and business;
- Knowledge on the Segregation of Duty and relevant process and risk controls is preferred;
- Affinity with user management and user change management procedures;
- Knowledge of Compliance and more specific of Anti-Money Laundering and related regulations is preferable;
- Flexible mindset;
- Excellent communication skills in English;
- Dutch language is a pre.
