The PhD trajectory will be hosted by the Department of Industrial Ecology at Leiden University’s Institute of Environmental Sciences (CML), in collaboration with the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO).

TNO is an independent research organization in the Netherlands that bridges the gap between fundamental research and practical application, working with government, industry, and academia to develop innovative solutions for societal challenges. The Department of Circularity and Sustainability Impacts (Utrecht) focuses on accelerating the shift toward a circular economy by assessing the environmental, social, and economic impacts of materials and production systems. The Department of Wind Energy (Rijswijk) conducts cutting-edge research to advance the development, integration, and optimization of wind energy systems both onshore and offshore.
The Institute of Environmental Sciences (CML) is positioned in the Faculty of Sciences. The Faculty of Science is a world-class faculty where staff and students work together in a dynamic international environment. The faculty has grown strongly in recent years and now has more than 2.800 staff and almost 6000 students.
