Make an impact in a business-critical transformation programme
Regulatory reporting is becoming increasingly complex and business-critical. To support future regulatory requirements and strengthen its reporting capabilities, ING is implementing a new transaction reporting solution as part of a major transformation programme covering regulations such as EMIR, SFTR, MiFIR and CFTC.
To help make this programme a success, ING is looking for an experienced Test Manager who can take ownership of User Acceptance Testing and testing governance. This is a highly visible role, positioned at the intersection of Business, IT, Operations, Compliance and external vendors. You will play a key role in ensuring that the new solution is delivered with the quality, control and transparency required in a regulator-facing environment.
Please note that this is not a hands-on testing position. ING is specifically looking for a Test Manager who has experience governing, coordinating and driving UAT processes, rather than executing test cases or performing day-to-day testing activities. You will be responsible for creating structure, driving alignment between stakeholders and ensuring that testing activities support informed decision-making throughout the programme.
Success in this role depends as much on stakeholder management as on testing expertise. You will work closely with teams across Front Office, Operations, IT and Compliance, while regularly engaging with senior programme stakeholders. The ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations and drive decisions in a complex environment is therefore essential.
Adding to the challenge is an ambitious delivery timeline, with multiple go-live milestones planned. You will help keep teams aligned, maintain oversight of risks and dependencies and ensure that testing remains on track throughout the implementation journey.
What you'll be doing
As Test Manager, you will be responsible for the overall testing approach, governance and execution throughout the programme. You will ensure that all testing activities are aligned, transparent and focused on delivering a successful and regulator-ready implementation.
Your responsibilities will include:
-
Defining and owning the end-to-end testing strategy, including SIT, UAT, regression testing, cutover testing and go-live readiness
-
Establishing clear entry and exit criteria, defect severity definitions and escalation procedures
-
Coordinating User Acceptance Testing across multiple teams, locations and external vendors
-
Aligning vendor-led testing activities with internal business and IT testing efforts
-
Designing and implementing governance frameworks that support effective programme delivery
-
Developing RACI models, decision flows and escalation frameworks
-
Clarifying decision ownership, particularly for regulatory reporting and data quality topics
-
Ensuring governance structures are embedded into day-to-day programme execution
-
Validating that testing activities adequately cover regulatory reporting requirements and business processes
-
Working closely with Operations and Compliance teams to support regulatory sign-off readiness
-
Providing clear, risk-based reporting to programme leadership and senior stakeholders
-
Managing test planning, execution tracking, defect triage and governance reporting
-
Driving the resolution of critical defects, prioritising based on regulatory and operational risk
-
Leading go-live readiness assessments and cutover testing activities
-
Supporting post-go-live validation and ensuring a smooth handover into business-as-usual operations
