Your Role
As a Critical Service Engineer, you are responsible for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of the critical infrastructure within our data centers. You will monitor, maintain, and optimize systems including UPS installations, generators, cooling systems, HVAC equipment, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
Through your technical expertise and problem-solving abilities, our critical systems continue to operate safely and efficiently, ensuring uninterrupted service for our customers.
No two days are the same. You will perform inspections, troubleshoot technical issues, coordinate maintenance activities, and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of our infrastructure.
What Will You Do?
- Perform daily inspections of critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure;
- Monitor the Building Management System (BMS) and respond to alarms, faults, and operational deviations;
- Operate and maintain UPS systems, generators, electrical distribution systems, cooling installations, and HVAC equipment;
- Carry out preventive, corrective, and reactive maintenance activities;
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and cooling-related issues;
- Support operational incidents and emergency response activities;
- Ensure customer environmental requirements and service levels are maintained;
- Execute work in accordance with SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs;
- Accurately document maintenance activities, inspections, incidents, and completed work;
- Coordinate and supervise external contractors and vendors;
- Identify risks, abnormalities, and opportunities for improvement;
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide support during operational incidents.
What Do You Bring?
- MBO / Intermediate Vocational Education in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Technology, or a related technical discipline;
- Valid VCA VOL certification;
- Valid NEN3140 certification;
- Experience with critical infrastructure such as UPS systems, generators, HVAC, and cooling installations;
- Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance;
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills;
- Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS);
- Good command of both Dutch and English, written and spoken;
- A structured, independent, and detail-oriented work style;
- Flexibility, resilience, and a strong safety mindset;
- A proactive attitude and strong sense of ownership.
- NEN3840 certification;
- Experience working in a data center or other mission-critical environment;
- Experience with Ultimo or other Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS);
- Data Center certifications such as CDCP or CDCS.
