What to Expect
You will be part of the Logistics Claims, Quality & Compliance team, working as the dedicated compliance partner to our global merchandising team. In this role you support the merchandising business in implementing and maintaining its compliance program - ensuring our merchandising products and vehicle accessories meet the regulatory, safety and labeling requirements of every market we sell in, and can be imported successfully. As our merchandising and accessories portfolio expands across the world - product compliance has become a discipline of its own.
You will own proactive compliance management for merchandising products (apparel, accessories, promotional items) and vehicle accessories (for example tire repair kits), guiding global teams through the regulatory landscape. You are the person who clears the regulatory path for new products and Tesla Shop launches, so that we import products and enter markets faster, avoid fines and shipment holds, and free the wider team from reactive firefighting. Around 95% of our merchandising items are regulated in almost every country and fall under consumer protection law, so the work is detailed, cross-functional and high-impact.
What You'll Do-
Implement and maintain the product compliance program for the global merchandising and vehicle accessories portfolio
-
Lead compliance assessments, certifications and documentation for new and existing products across EMEA, South America and North America
-
Guide the global merchandising team through the regulatory landscape, so products can be imported and launched successfully
-
Monitor regulatory changes across the three regions and implement proactive updates before they block market access in collaboration with our other Program Managers
-
Coordinate with suppliers, testing laboratories and internal teams (Product Managers, Sourcing, Legal) to close labeling and homologation gaps
-
Support market access strategies and Tesla Shop launches
-
Develop and systemize region-specific compliance processes so the portfolio can scale without adding risk
-
Keep oversight of a high volume of parts and documentation, and represent the Tesla team with all external partners
What You'll Bring-
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in supply chain, business, engineering or a related field
-
4+ years' experience in product compliance or logistics compliance, ideally within retail or merchandising
-
Working knowledge of the relevant regional standards and frameworks - for example CE marking and EU directives (REACH, RoHS) in EMEA, Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) requirements and import/customs rules in North America, and country-specific safety and testing requirements across the globe
-
Strong project management skills, and the ability to keep several launches and certifications moving in parallel
-
Comfort investigating large amounts of data and keeping oversight across many products and markets
-
A self-starter who can work with ambiguity and in a fast-paced environment, and who is a true team player able to translate stakeholder needs into actionable logistics operations
-
Proficiency with Excel and business intelligence tools
