An experienced Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Control Specialist for an urgent, short-term contract opportunity to address a critical capacity gap. You will join our client’s End-to-End NFR Programme, a high-priority, strategic, and regulatory organisation-wide change initiative.
As a Non-Financial Risk Control Specialist, you are responsible for leading the hands-on optimization of risk and control frameworks. You will start by executing immediate follow-up actions based on existing gap analyses and preliminary guidance, initiating a targeted wave of framework remediation and clean-up.
Collaborate closely with internal project workstreams, Policy/Risk Type Owners, Business-as-Usual (BaU) risk teams, and 1st-line owners of the controls.
Perform control design activities and test the effectiveness of existing and newly implemented controls.
Navigate and utilise Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) systems to manage workflows and documentation.
Gap Remediation: Address outstanding analysis gaps and implement corrective actions across selected control areas.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a bridge between the change project, policy owners, and the 1st line of defense to align on expectations and deliverables.
Process Improvement: Redesign underlying standards, procedures, and guidelines to ensure long-term risk compliance.
Enablement: Develop and roll out clear training and communication plans to help stakeholders adopt optimized frameworks smoothly.
Proven knowledge of key banking processes.
Demonstrated experience in building, implementing, and optimizing sound Non-Financial Risk (NFR) and Control Frameworks.
Strong hands-on expertise in control design and testing control effectiveness.
Sound working knowledge of GRC workflows and systems.
An adaptable, self-starting professional who thrives under pressure and can quickly deliver value in high-priority regulatory environments.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across various lines of defense.
Analytically sharp with a structured approach to solving complex risk and control gaps.
