Internship Fabric Design
We develop multiple collections of embroidery and lace fabrics for fashion garments. You will be assisting in the collection creation and reporting directly to WMB’s fabric design coordinator. Additionally, as we are a small-sized company, you might be involved in other creative tasks such as garment design and marketing communications.
FABRIC DESIGN: graphic design of lace, all-over embroidery, and print patterns (illustrator).
MATERIALS: evaluate materials to use per design.
DEVELOPMENT: evaluate prototypes of designs and communicate this to colleagues.
TREND BOOKS: assist the design team in the creation of seasonal trend books.
SWATCH REQUESTS: organize client selections, cut fabrics, prepare ship-outs.
DIGITAL FABRIC LIBRARY: creating visual- and text content per realized design for our website.
GARMENT DESIGN: assist in garment design, tech file making, proto reviews, and follow up.
GARMENT SEWING: occasionally assist in sewing mock-ups and garment samples.
MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS: assisting in creating visuals for online communications.
REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE: (fabric) design.
CURRENTLY: enrolled in/recently graduated at uni (of applied sciences).
COURSE BACKGROUND: graphic design / textile design / fashion design / confection.
PERSONALITY: creative, resourceful, organized.
FLUENCY: English.
COMPUTER SKILLS: illustrator, basic: OS-and MS-programs, excel.
ADVANTAGE: understanding of measurement-making, patterns, sewing, and different materials.
TO NOTE
STARTING DATE: end July / early August 2026. Exact date to be discussed.
DURATION: 6 months.
FULL-TIME
LOCATION: Amsterdam.
COMPENSATION: EUR 400/month.
LAPTOP: we ask you to bring your own laptop including Illustrator and Photoshop. Coffees and lattes are on us.
EU RESIDENCY: applicants should have an EU residence permit; we do not provide visa sponsorship.

In addition to our fabrics, we provide ready-to-wear manufacturing. We have offices in Amsterdam and Hangzhou.
