As a Grid Planning & Analysing Specialist, you provide the analytical foundation for future grid development and investment decisions. By combining grid analyses, congestion assessments, scenarios, asset strategies, and energy market developments, you translate complex insights into clear grid visions and recommendations.
Working closely with colleagues across TenneT, authorities, and DSOs, you identify future capacity needs, assess system constraints, and support strategic decision-making. You help ensure that network development plans remain aligned with changing system developments, demand forecasts, and long-term planning assumptions.
With your analytical expertise, you play a key role in delivering a reliable, robust, and future-proof electricity grid while contributing directly to TenneT’s strategic objectives of security of supply, the energy transition, and efficient infrastructure investments.
-
Ensuring future-proof grid development by assessing grid strategy alternatives, system development scenarios and network expansion options within your assigned region.
-
Leading and coordinating grid planning and system studies to assess future system needs, identify constraints and evaluate potential network development pathways.
-
Developing and maintaining regional grid visions (together with DSO’s) and planning perspectives by translating the outcomes of Investment Plan (IP) analyses, congestion studies, scenario assessments and stakeholder insights into coherent system development strategies.
-
Developing and maintaining national grid vision (with developments of offshore wind, nuclear, industry and interconnections) and planning perspectives by translating the outcomes of Investment Plan (IP) analyses, strategic studies, scenario assessments, and stakeholder insights into coherent network development strategies.
-
Providing the analytical foundation for network investment decisions (TollGate 1) by identifying system constraints, assessing alternative solutions and supporting prioritization of network reinforcement and expansion projects.
-
Performing grid calculations for investment decisions (TollGate 1) and assessing the future behavior of the grid and the total system, particularly in relation to power flows, short circuit levels, reactive power, contingency analyses and system stability.
-
Contributing to harmonized grid development methodologies, planning standards, and analytical frameworks across TenneT, ensuring consistency in network development strategies and planning processes in all project phases.
You will be part of the Grid Solutions team within Design, work on the EHV-grid (220/380kV specific) and report to the Manager of Grid Solutions. In this role, you work closely with colleagues from Design, Operate, Onshore, Offshore and other disciplines across TenneT, as well as with external stakeholders such as DSOs, government authorities, regulators, and regional energy partners. In this role, you will also participate in multidisciplinary teams within Design and on call, with Onshore and/or Offshore. In this way, you will contribute to the preparation of investment projects that are aligned with management and maintenance projects, customer projects and support their implementation with clear design documents and expertise.
