Whether you're calculating a greenhouse or an indoor farm – you create a tailored quotation for every project!
As Junior Electrical Cost Engineer you translate electrical customer requests into suitable technical designs and customized quotations. You design all electrical components in our innovative horticultural projects: from high‑tech greenhouses to climate cells. You connect the entire design process from start to finish.
You will work in a small, close-knit team of three experienced colleagues in an open and informal environment that encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing. They will support you in learning every part of the job. We have specialists in-house for electrical engineering, structural engineering, irrigation, and climate technology for our turnkey projects, so you’ll be learning from true experts!
Monday: You receive a new request from the sales team and immediately start creating simple layout drawings in AutoCAD. You decide which installations are the best fit, while having the option to consult colleagues and suppliers whenever needed.
Tuesday: With the drawings completed, it’s time to perform various electrical calculations — such as cable sizing, lighting calculations, and power calculations.
Wednesday: You finish the remaining electrical calculations and start working on the cost calculations. You coordinate with suppliers and consult with your colleagues. You’ll also join a meeting with the work preparation team, aimed at sharing knowledge and insights.
Thursday:You enter the project into our ERP system to keep project costs organized. Then you generate the quotation and prepare all accompanying documentation.
Friday: You review your quotation with your direct colleagues to ensure everything is correct. You then discuss it with the other disciplines and hand it over to the sales department. You end the week with a relaxed drink during the Friday afternoon meet-up.
Once our sales team has sold the project, you hand over your design and project information to the work preparation team. They will further develop the project in detail. Throughout the execution phase, you stay in contact about the project and any adjustments. The best part of your job? We don’t work with standard specifications: every project is unique, tailored to the customer’s needs, suitable for different crops, and built to withstand various weather conditions. This means you can use your creativity and stay technically challenged! You also work on multiple projects at the same time and integrate new market and product developments into your designs.
