Norden Chemicals & Logistics B.V., part of the Hicri Ercili Group, is a chemical production and trading company based in Sas van Gent, Netherlands. In addition to producing liquid aluminum sulfate (LAS) at our own facility, we trade a broad portfolio of approximately 20 different water treatment and industrial chemicals, including polyaluminium chloride (PAC), sodium bisulfate, and potassium sulfate. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dedicated Laboratory Analyst to join our Quality Control team.
About the Role
We are seeking a Laboratory Analyst / QC Technician with at least 3–4 years of relevant experience to strengthen our quality control operations. In this role, you will be responsible for routine laboratory analyses of raw materials and finished products, as well as conducting on-site product testing at customer locations when required.
Key Responsibilities
● Perform chemical analyses on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products (LAS, PAC, and other water treatment chemicals) according to established procedures
● Carry out UV-spectrophotometric analysis, titration, moisture content testing, ash/muffle furnace testing, filtration testing, and jar & sedimentation (settling) tests
● Perform pH, density, and viscosity measurements
● Conduct on-site product testing and quality checks at customer facilities as needed
● Maintain accurate laboratory records, test reports, and certificates of analysis
● Ensure laboratory equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and operated in compliance with safety and environmental regulations
● Support and help maintain the company's quality management system (e.g., ISO 9001 and related standards)
● Identify and report non-conformities, and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions
● Collaborate closely with Production, HSE, and the Plant Manager to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance
● Follow all applicable HSE and laboratory safety procedures
Requirements
● Minimum 3–4 years of hands-on experience in a laboratory environment, preferably in the chemical or water treatment industry
● Practical knowledge of water treatment chemicals (coagulants/flocculants such as PAC and aluminum sulfate) and their behavior in jar/settling tests
● Experience with UV-spectrophotometry, titration methods, moisture analysis, ash/muffle furnace testing, and filtration testing
● Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites to perform product testing
● Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) strongly preferred
● Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a structured way of working
● Fluent in Dutch (Flemish) and English — both required
● Good communication and teamwork skills
● Relevant degree/diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field is a plus
