We are seeking an experienced Accounting & Credit Manager to lead our local accounting activities, ensure compliance with Dutch statutory requirements, and drive continuous improvement across accounting and credit management processes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance leader with strong accounting expertise, audit experience, and a passion for developing people and improving ways of working.
- Act as the primary contact for local Accounting teams, Finance Shared Services, and external Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) providers
- Lead, coach, and develop the Netherlands Accounting team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance
- Work closely with the Country Head of Finance to provide direction, structure, and support to local accounting operations
- Oversee month-end close activities, reconciliations, financial reporting, intercompany transactions, and recharges, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
- Ensure compliance with Dutch accounting regulations, statutory reporting requirements, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Manage internal and external audits and coordinate with auditors to ensure successful audit completion with minimal adjustments
- Ensure timely submission of statutory financial statements and tax filings in collaboration with Group Tax
- Support Group Treasury with hedging-related financial information and reporting requirements
- Monitor accounting performance through KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify opportunities for standardization, optimization, and automation of accounting processes
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with governance requirements, including segregation of duties (SoD)
- Collaborate with Accounting Centres of Excellence, Finance teams, Sales, Customer Service, and other stakeholders to improve end-to-end finance processes
In addition to accounting leadership responsibilities, you will manage the Cluster Credit Control function by:
- Supporting the development and implementation of effective credit control procedures aligned with Group policies
- Partnering with Credit & Collection teams to assess customer creditworthiness and evaluate credit applications
- Overseeing customer risk assessments through financial statement reviews, credit reports, and payment history analysis
- Monitoring customer credit exposure and recommending actions to minimise risk while supporting business growth
- Working closely with Credit & Collections teams, Sales, Project Managers, and Customer Service to resolve credit issues and optimise cash collection performance
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership position
- Strong knowledge of Dutch accounting standards, statutory requirements, and local compliance obligations
- Experience managing audits, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance activities
- Big Four audit background would be highly advantageous
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments is preferred
- Strong understanding of Accounting processes, including Record-to-Report (RTR), Order-to-Cash (OTC), and Procure-to-Pay (PTP)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, hands-on mindset with a strong focus on quality, structure, and continuous improvement
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with Tagetik and Qlik Sense is an advantage
- Fluent Dutch and English language skills
