Vacancy: HR OFFICER (Amsterdam Westpoort)
Are you a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and welcomes challenging situations? Then this is the role for you! As our HR Officer on site, you will be the face and the foundation of HR within our logistics operation in Amsterdam Westpoort. Our organization is currently in a phase where (HR) processes need further professionalization. Because there is no existing HR team on site, you will have the full freedom and responsibility to shape this professionalization process. Our logistics operation runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This creates a highly dynamic environment where you as the HR anchor will bring stability, structure, and oversight during your regular 40-hour workweek.
What will you be doing?
- First Point of Contact: Act as the trusted advisor for both local management and employees across the various shifts.
- HR Strategy & Advice: Proactively advise management on onboarding, internal growth, offboarding, sustainable employability, and retention of logistics staff
- Structure & Professionalization: Bring structure to existing processes and independently build and improve the HR department within a hectic 24/7 logistics environment.
- Recruitment: Take full responsibility for the recruitment process to attract and select logistics talent for our operations.
- External Relations: Maintain regular contact with external parties, such as the UWV (Dutch Employee Insurance Agency) and recruitment/temp agencies.
- HR & Payroll Administration: Manage the personnel administration from A to Z, and handle the complete, flawless preparation and processing of the monthly payroll.
- Case Management (Absenteeism): Independently manage the sickness absence process and reintegration in strict accordance with the Dutch Gatekeeper Improvement Act (Wet Verbetering Poortwachter).
- International Alignment: Align local HR policies with our international HQ in Spain and translate corporate guidelines into Dutch practice.
- Labor Law Compliance: Serve as our local expert; closely monitor Dutch labor laws and independently implement necessary changes into corporate policy.
Who are we looking for?
- Education & Experience: At least a bachelor's degree (HBO) in HRM or a related field, combined with 3 to 5 years of all-round HR experience, ideally within logistics or production.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to switch easily between different levels (from warehouse employees to local executives and international HQ).
- Language Proficiency: Excellent command of both Dutch and English in speaking and writing. English is our primary business language.
- Proactive & Hands-on Attitude: A true self-starter who spots opportunities, embraces challenging situations, and takes ownership to improve processes independently.
- Stress Resistance: Ability to maintain a clear overview and work accurately when ad-hoc situations disrupt the daily planning in a fast-changing environment.
