What to Expect
The AI and Automation Engineer will own the building, maintenance, and adoption of AI-powered tools and automation that support Tesla EMEA Megapack business. This is not a traditional analyst role. You will spend the majority of your time building and shipping AI products automation tools. As a key member of the EMEA Megapack Operations team, you will work closely with the AI product team, and cross-functional stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Legal, Service, and Deployment. You should be comfortable with ambiguity, energized by building tools that make other people's jobs easier, and willing to wear many hats in a fast-moving environment.
What You'll Do-
Build and maintain AI agents using LLM platforms (GPT, Claude, Copilot) with RAG pipelines — document ingestion, chunking, prompt engineering, and answer-quality validation
- Monitor deployed automations for failures, drift, and performance degradation; respond to issues and implement preventive measures
- Develop Python scripts and automation workflows to eliminate repetitive manual tasks across business functions
- Write clear technical documentation and user guides so non-technical teams can self-serve AI tools confidently
- Integrate internal systems (CRM, ERP, project tools) with AI services via REST APIs and webhook-driven pipelines
- Collaborate with senior engineers and the AI product lead on new tool evaluations and proof-of-concept prototypes
- Test, debug, and iterate on automation solutions end-to-end: identify root cause, apply fix, retest, and document resolution
- Participate in enablement activities: contribute to training materials, demo sessions, and internal newsletters on AI adoption
- Support a shared AI skills repository — contribute prompt templates, tag assets with metadata, and keep documentation current
- Stay current with fast-moving AI tooling — evaluate new frameworks, models, and platforms and share findings with the team

What You'll Bring-
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- 1 – 2 years of experience in business analytics, process improvement, or data management
- AI-native workflow: demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools (LLMs, coding assistants, prompt engineering) across 90%+ of daily tasks — coding, data analysis, documentation, debugging, research, and stakeholder communication. AI is your default operating mode, not a supplement
- Proficient in SQL and Python for data analysis, automation, and scripting
- Experience with BPMN or similar process modeling notation; ability to map complex cross-functional workflows
- Proficiency in data visualization and data modeling (Power BI)
- Experience with version control using Git for collaborative code management
- Strong interpersonal communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to facilitate workshops, present to leadership, and translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Self-motivated, autonomous, and capable of first-principle thinking in a fast-paced, evolving environment
