AREA MANAGER – DC OPERATIONS

Jouw rol als Area Manager
Als Area Manager ben je eindverantwoordelijk voor één van de kernprocessen binnen ons distributiecentrum in Almelo (Inbound, Returns, Picking, Replenishment, VAS of Shipping).
Je vertaalt de strategie van de locatie naar een sterke dagelijkse operatie en stuurt meerdere First Line Managers en hun teams aan om veilige, betrouwbare en kostenefficiënte resultaten te behalen.
Dit is een hands-on leidinggevende rol in het hart van de operatie. Je combineert sterk leiderschap met operationeel inzicht en bent in staat om onder druk te presteren in een dynamische, hoge-volume omgeving.
Wat ga je doen?
Je bent verantwoordelijk voor de dagelijkse en seizoensgebonden prestaties binnen jouw afdeling op het gebied van veiligheid, service, kwaliteit, productiviteit en kosten
Je stuurt First Line Managers aan en ontwikkelt hen door middel van duidelijke verwachtingen, coaching en eigenaarschap, in lijn met de VF-waarden
Je waarborgt een ‘safety first’-cultuur en grijpt direct in bij risico’s, incidenten en non-compliance
Je stuurt actief op performance via KPI’s en dagelijkse managementroutines, signaleert afwijkingen tijdig en neemt passende maatregelen
Je draagt bij aan continue verbeteringen, procesoptimalisatie en automatisering in samenwerking met Engineering, Planning en CI-teams
Je werkt nauw samen met andere Area Managers en de Head of Operations voor een optimale end-to-end flow binnen het DC
Je neemt weloverwogen beslissingen over operatie en personeel, waarbij je service, kosten en risico’s in balans houdt
Je bent zichtbaar aanwezig op de werkvloer en zorgt voor betrokkenheid, duidelijkheid en consistentie binnen de teams en shifts
Wat vragen wij jou?
Aantoonbare leidinggevende ervaring binnen een distributiecentrum, warehouse of logistieke omgeving
Ervaring met het aansturen van leidinggevenden binnen een dynamische organisatie
Bewezen resultaat in het verbeteren van operationele prestaties via teams
Sterke analytische vaardigheden en het vermogen om data en KPI’s te vertalen naar concrete acties
Goede kennis van veiligheidsvoorschriften binnen een operationele omgeving
Sterke communicatieve vaardigheden, met het vermogen om te schakelen tussen werkvloer en senior management
Gestructureerde, stressbestendige en flexibele werkhouding, ook tijdens piekperiodes
Goede beheersing van de Nederlandse en Engelse taal

As an Area Manager, you are fully responsible for one of the core processes within our distribution center in Almelo (Inbound, Returns, Picking, Replenishment, VAS, or Shipping).
You translate the site strategy into a strong day-to-day operation and lead multiple First Line Managers and their teams to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-efficient results.
This is a hands-on leadership role at the heart of operations. You combine strong leadership skills with operational knowledge and are able to perform under pressure in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
Be responsible for daily and seasonal performance within your department across safety, service, quality, productivity, and cost
Manage and develop First Line Managers through clear expectations, coaching, and ownership, in line with VF values
Ensure a “safety first” culture and take immediate action in case of risks, incidents, or non-compliance
Drive performance through KPIs and daily management routines, identify deviations early, and take corrective actions
Contribute to continuous improvement, process optimization, and automation in collaboration with Engineering, Planning, and CI teams
Work closely with other Area Managers and the Head of Operations to ensure optimal end-to-end flow within the DC
Take well-balanced decisions on operations and workforce, considering service, cost, and risk
Maintain a visible presence on the shop floor, ensuring engagement, clarity, and consistency across teams and shifts
Proven leadership experience within a distribution center, warehouse, or logistics environment
Experience managing other leaders within a dynamic organization
Demonstrated ability to improve operational performance through team leadership
Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data and KPIs into concrete actions
Solid knowledge of safety regulations within an operational environment
Strong communication skills, with the ability to switch between shop floor and senior management
Structured, resilient, and flexible work approach, especially during peak periods
Good command of Dutch and English
Full ownership of a critical operational function within a key European distribution center
