We’re looking for a Senior Specialist to join Prosus Risk & Audit, based at our Amsterdam (Zuidas) headquarters. In this role, you’ll execute assurance and risk projects across our portfolio companies — running risk assessments, controls testing, and gap remediation, andworking closely with business process, IT, security, and risk teams at our clients. You’ll help local management find practical ways to manage risks and improve their processes, and support the coordination of the annual coverage plan. The role includes up to 40% international travel and reports to the Director, Risk & Audit.
Who You Are
You have an entrepreneurial mindset and feel at home in a fast-moving tech environment. You’re tech-savvy, politically sensitive, and bring a can-do attitude to everything you do. You engage comfortably with process owners and local management, and communicate clearly and concisely — no jargon, no fluff. You are a global citizen, comfortable traveling and navigating unfamiliar environments. You understand how to balance risk and control, and you work well autonomously — whether alongside the internal team or a third-party service provider. Your morals, ethics, and drive are solid. You hold yourself to a high standard and only sign off on work you’re genuinely proud of. You build relationships easily, add value beyond the scope of any specific project, and your business English is outstanding — you can talk about risks, control gaps, and audit findings without hiding behind jargon, and anyone in the room always knows exactly what you mean.
What You Bring
- 3–7 years of experience in audit, risk management, or internal controls, preferably including time at a Big-4 firm.
- Experience in operational, financial, and/or compliance audits or advisory projects.
- A master’s degree in accounting, business economics, finance, auditing and control, or asimilar field.
- Completed or actively pursuing a professional certification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, CIA, CFE, CISA, or CISM.
- Familiarity with general IT controls and comfort working in a tech-driven environment.
- Confident communicator — able to engage credibly with process owners and local management, hold your own in a room, and get complex findings across in plain language.
- Outstanding written and spoken business English.
- Availability and willingness to travel internationally up to 40% of the time.
- A track record of putting AI to work, not just talking about it — and the drive to bring that thinking into everything we do.
Your Typical Day
You grab a coffee from our in-house barista and start the day reading up on the latest developments at one of our portfolio companies — staying close to the business is what keeps your work relevant. You spend the morning deep in fieldwork: running audit interviews with process owners, testing controls, and documenting findings with the precision and clarity that makes our reports land. You work on an audit report, making sure it’s sharp, jargon-free, and plain English. Mid-morning, you align with the project lead on project progress and flag anything that needs a decision. In the afternoon, you join an update meeting with local management — direct, focused, and prepared. You close the day experimenting with an AI workflow you’ve been building to take our audit capabilities to the next level. You’re learning fast, adding real value, and growing into more responsibility every day.
