We are looking for an enthusiastic intern to join our Sustainability team in Amsterdam for a 2-month assignment. This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience in a dynamic, international environment while contributing to work that actually matters. During the internship, you will help translate planned decarbonisation investments into structured data that can be used for portfolio reporting and asset-level decision-making.
What you will do You will primarily contribute to moving decarbonisation projects from strategy to implementation across our European real estate portfolio. Working alongside the Sustainability and Asset Management teams, you will connect asset business plans with our ESG data management platform, ensuring decarbonisation initiatives are accurately captured, tracked, and reported. You will help map planned decarbonisation CAPEX into our ESG platform, including energy efficiency improvements, renewable energy installations, electrification projects, and other low-carbon measures. You will also reconcile data across business planning and sustainability tools and work with asset managers to improve the visibility and quality of decarbonisation activity across the portfolio.
Your responsibilities will include:
Consolidate decarbonisation CAPEX from asset business plans in the ESG data management platform
Reconcile and improve data quality between asset business plans and ESG tools
Support the Sustainability team in helping asset management teams understand each asset's decarbonisation pathway
Track CAPEX projects contributing to building decarbonisation and support related reporting
Provide ad hoc support to the Sustainability team on initiatives across the portfolio
What you will get out of it:
A unique insight into how sustainability, investment planning, and asset management come together in a global real estate investment manager
Practical experience with asset business planning and ESG data management tools used to support decarbonisation decisions
The opportunity to work with and learn from professionals across Sustainability, Asset Management, and Investment teams
The chance to make a tangible contribution to sustainability initiatives across a European real estate portfolio
What we're looking for:
An HBO or WO student, currently enrolled at an educational institution in the Netherlands
Prior knowledge of the built environment and/or sustainability is not required, but considered advantageous
Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with data
Curious and eager to learn, with a willingness to dig into unfamiliar topics and ask good questions
Fluency in English, Dutch would be beneficial
We offer an internship allowance of EUR 850 per month (based on 40 hours per week). If you don't have a student public transport card, we will also cover your travel costs to and from the office. #CBREIM
