Help NN Group regain control over SharePoint and Microsoft 365 storage growth. In this external assignment, you will design and implement lifecycle, classification, retention, archiving and clean-up solutions that reduce costs, strengthen governance and help prepare unstructured data for responsible use.
We are looking for two experienced SharePoint Lifecycle Specialists to support the Digital Workplace team. You will combine hands-on Microsoft 365 and automation expertise with strong stakeholder management, working closely with Product Owners, engineers, business stakeholders and ServiceNow teams to embed lifecycle management into daily operations.
What you are going to do
- Design and implement SharePoint and Microsoft 365 lifecycle solutions to control storage growth, reduce costs and strengthen governance
- Configure automated classification, retention, archiving and remediation policies across agreed Microsoft 365 environments
- Work with ServiceNow teams to automate lifecycle tasks, workflows, approvals and notifications
- Coordinate with business stakeholders to review, classify and clean up unstructured data, including orphaned SharePoint sites
- Document lifecycle policies, taxonomy, technical configurations, workflows and operating procedures, and hand them over to Digital Workplace operations
What we offer you
Our people are the driving force behind our organisation. We value the knowledge and expertise you bring. We believe that your temporary commitment can take our organisation to a higher level. We offer you:
- Competitive hourly rate depending on your knowledge and experience
- External assignment starting 1 September 2026 and ending 31 December 2026.
- Hybrid way of working, partly from home and partly from the office
- International working environment with loads of knowledge sharing
- A concrete mission to reduce SharePoint storage growth, lower Microsoft 365 costs and strengthen information governance
Who you are
You have in-depth knowledge of SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365 and Digital Workplace products, including PowerShell automation and preferably Intune, Azure and DevOps. You understand how lifecycle management, retention, archiving, taxonomy and storage optimisation fit together in a governed Microsoft 365 environment.
You are comfortable translating governance requirements into practical automation and operational workflows. Experience with ServiceNow is valuable because the assignment includes lifecycle tasks, approvals, notifications and process integration.
You communicate clearly with both technical teams and business stakeholders. You are able to motivate and steer engineering colleagues positively, facilitate business clean-up activities and explain decisions in a way that creates support and engagement.
You bring an Agile and Scrum mindset, treat problems as puzzles to solve, and use critical thinking to understand issues before deciding on the best course of action. You can work independently on the assignment while keeping the relevant stakeholders aligned.
Who you will work with
You will work with the Digital Workplace team within Group IT/EIS, in close collaboration with Product Owners, engineers, ServiceNow teams and business stakeholders across NN. The team focuses on a reliable, governed and automated digital workplace for NN colleagues.
Within this assignment, you will help embed lifecycle management into production systems and operational processes. You will also support adoption and change management with the affected teams and business units, ensuring that the delivered controls and procedures can be maintained after handover.
