The Configuration Management (CM) department manages product baselines and data integrity. They accomplish this using the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system Windchill.
As a Configuration Manager, you are responsible for drafting and executing the Configuration Management Plan (CMP). The core of the role is to manage systems and products throughout the entire product lifecycle.
You are an expert in configuration management and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). You have gained experience in Engineering and/or Supply Chain, which gives you an understanding of the value and necessity of PLM.
In this role, besides your own tasks, you will also have guiding and coordinating responsibilities. Additionally, you will contribute to the department's vision and strategy and help continuously improve configuration management.

You describe, implement, and maintain the fundamental activities within the CMP:

Planning and management;

Identification;

Configuration control;

Status accounting;

Verification and audits.

You develop and maintain configuration management processes, methods, and best practices, using the international standard CM2.

You perform configuration management tasks within projects, such as managing baselines and deliveries.

You monitor and oversee CM activities within projects (e.g., change management).

You create and deliver configuration management/Product Lifecycle Management (awareness) presentations and training sessions.

You are a process expert who understands how processes work in detail and helps to improve processes.

You are involved in improvement projects to build support for changes.

You are a strong sparring partner for colleagues, product, and/or project managers.
