(Sr.) Category Development Manager
We are looking for a (Sr.) Category Development Manager for our subsidiary located in Almere, the Netherlands. This role functions as an expert in the field of shopper, customer and category projects. This translates into taking the lead on large (cross) category projects, both internal and external and training colleagues to place category management / retail- and shopper thinking as strong as possible within the organization.
Colgate-Palmolive Nederland is recognised by its customers for being a trusted and objective category advisor in the Oral and Personal Care Categories. We are looking for an ambitious master-mind to become even better in the future! The Sr. Category Development Manager reports directly to the Customer Development Director.
Every day is different, but below is a sample of what you will experience and expect to accomplish:
Responsible for championing the Category Vision within the organization, and demonstrates enhanced capabilities working collaboratively with customers. Plays an integral role in elevating Category and shopper knowledge.
The role requires a strong understanding of the shopper and the retail dynamics in different retail environments (RE’s) across categories. The Category Development Manager needs to be able to identify the category business challenges at an RE level and for priority customers
Work with different quantitative and qualitative (research) agencies and the Insights & Analytics team to gather valuable insights and build credible category and trade stories
Is a part of the commercial team and will work with the Customer Development Managers and Marketing teams to ensure alignment and execution against the category and brand strategies by coordinating the RCD process with customers and providing the tools required to define and deploy the 5P’s for the category.
Who you are
An optimist in action; fluent in Dutch is a must and English speaking
Min 3-5 year(s) experience in Trade Marketing / Category Management / Consulting
Analytical - we’re a very data driven company. Knowing how to translate sophisticated data into simple solutions with an analytical approach is essential. Experience and familiarity with market research and analysis tools (e.g. Nielsen) is highly desirable.
