Job Summary
We are seeking a Junior European Policy Research Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate holds a solid academic background in European Green Industrial Policy, possesses excellent cross-cultural communication skills, and will be responsible for supporting basic policy research, external liaison coordination, and policy analysis related work.
Key Responsibilities
Basic Research & Analysis
- Collect, collate and analyze European policy-related data, official reports and legislative documents
- Assist in drafting policy briefs, research reports and meeting summaries
- Monitor policy updates and developments of key European institutions (European Commission, European Parliament, etc.)
- Maintain and update policy databases and knowledge management systems
External Liaison & Network Development
- Assist in arranging meetings with European policymakers, stakeholders and strategic partners
- Participate in industry academic conferences, seminars and roundtable discussions
- Support the team in maintaining cooperative relations with European institutions, think tanks and civil society organizations
- Assist in preparing external liaison materials and presentation slides
Coordination & Administrative Support
- Coordinate internal team meetings and cross-departmental collaborative work
- Assist in organizing policy events, workshops and policy briefings
- Manage project schedules and track deliverables of external institutions
- Provide general administrative and business travel support to ensure the smooth progress of projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in European Studies, Public Policy, International Relations, Political Science or other related fields
- At least 2 years of study or living experience in European countries, with in-depth understanding of European social, cultural and political environment; 0-2 years of relevant work experience
- Relevant experience in EU green industrial policy or automotive upstream and downstream industries is highly preferred
- Fluent in English (written & spoken); proficiency in other European languages (German, French preferred) is a plus
- Basic policy research and data analysis capabilities, able to sort out and interpret complex information independently
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with strong cross-cultural communication sensitivity
- Able to work efficiently in a multicultural team, with good teamwork spirit and collaboration awareness
