We are currently looking for an experienced Master Data Specialist – SAP S/4HANA for a full-time opportunity in the Netherlands. This role is suitable for a detail-oriented professional with strong experience in SAP S/4HANA, master data management, data governance, and operational data support.
Position Overview
The Master Data Specialist will be responsible for creating, maintaining, validating, and optimizing master data within SAP S/4HANA. The role involves managing material, vendor, customer, and product master data while ensuring accuracy, consistency, compliance, and standardization across business systems.
The position requires close collaboration with supply chain, procurement, finance, operations, and IT teams to resolve data-related issues, support reporting needs, and contribute to SAP implementation or data migration activities.
Key Responsibilities
Master Data Management
- Create, maintain, and update master data in SAP S/4HANA.
- Manage material, vendor, customer, and product master data.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, completeness, and standardization across systems.
- Perform data validation, data cleansing, and duplication checks.
- Maintain master data records in line with business requirements and internal standards.
- Support data governance policies and ensure compliance with company procedures.
- Monitor data quality and identify opportunities for improvement.
SAP S/4HANA & Data Support
- Work with SAP S/4HANA to support daily master data operations.
- Support SAP implementation, data migration, and system optimization activities.
- Assist in data mapping, testing, validation, and post-migration data checks.
- Generate reports and support operational data analysis.
- Identify system or process-related data issues and coordinate resolution with relevant teams.
- Support process improvement initiatives related to data quality, workflows, and reporting.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, finance, operations, and IT departments.
- Act as a point of contact for master data-related queries and issue resolution.
- Ensure timely and accurate data updates to support business operations.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders regarding data requirements and changes.
- Support documentation of master data processes, standards, and procedures.
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, IT, Data Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in master data management or a similar data-focused role.
- Proven experience working with SAP S/4HANA.
- Strong understanding of master data processes, including material, vendor, customer, and product master data.
- Experience in data validation, data cleansing, duplication checks, and data quality control.
- Good understanding of data governance principles and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
- Fluent Dutch communication is mandatory.
- Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Able to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
- Must be authorized to work in the Netherlands.
- No visa sponsorship required.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in SAP data migration projects.
- Experience supporting SAP implementation or optimization activities.
- Knowledge of supply chain, procurement, finance, or operations processes.
- Experience with data governance frameworks and master data standards.
- SAP certification will be considered an advantage.
- Experience working in a cross-functional business environment.
- Exposure to reporting, operational analysis, or process improvement initiatives.
