Train Lodge Amsterdam is hiring a Receptionist / Front Desk Employee to join our international team. In this guest-facing role, you’ll work in a unique hostel environment, handling check-ins, customer service, and bar duties—perfect if you enjoy variety and meeting people from all over the world.
About Train Lodge Amsterdam
We are a one-of-a-kind hostel where guests stay in authentic train carriages from the former Zürich–Rome night train. Located next to Amsterdam Sloterdijk station, we offer easy access to the city and a truly memorable guest experience.
What you’ll do (Responsibilities)
- Guest check-in and check-out (front desk)
- Deliver excellent customer service and guest support
- Bar service (drinks and simple food)
- Provide tourist information about Amsterdam
- Handle payments and cash management
- Communicate with booking platforms (OTA partners)
- Perform light cleaning and routine checks
- Ensure guest safety, comfort, and smooth daily operations
Working hours (Flexible schedule)
- Morning shift: 07:00 – 15:00
- Evening shift: 15:00 – 23:00

What we’re looking for
- HBO level of thinking and working
- Good command of English (Dutch or other languages are a plus)
- Experience in hospitality / horeca / hotel / hostel is preferred
- Strong communication skills and customer-focused mindset
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently
- Proactive and comfortable with multitasking
- Living in Amsterdam
