As a Progress/OpenEdge Developer, you will play a key role in the development of our proprietary Warehouse Management System (WMS). This is not a legacy maintenance role — it’s a forward-looking position focused on modernizing our tech stack, enabling APIs, and leveraging AI-aided development to accelerate delivery and quality. You’ll work in cross-functional domain teams and have a significant impact on the future of our WMS platform.
What will you do?
- Develop and enhance WMS modules using Progress/OpenEdge.
- Collaborate in cross-functional domain teams to deliver impactful solutions.
- Integrate APIs to enable seamless communication across systems.
- Apply AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term system scalability.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Occasional travel to other NewCold sites may be required.

Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience with Progress 4GL / OpenEdge development.
- Strong understanding of API design and integration.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Tabnine) is a plus.
- Familiarity with logistics, warehousing, or ERP systems.
- Comfortable working in agile, cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with modern development practices (CI/CD, DevOps).
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence), SonarQube, and web-based UI technologies.
- Knowledge of complementary technologies (SQL, RESTful APIs, .NET, cloud platforms).
