Butta la Pasta is Amsterdam’s new neighborhood pasta and wine bar dedicated to the art of handmade Italian cuisine and winemaking.
“Butta la Pasta” is a familiar Italian phrase that literally means “throw in the pasta.” It’s what someone—typically mamma or nonna—might call out from the kitchen when the sauce is ready and it’s time to cook the pasta. It’s a casual, homey cue that the meal is about to begin. This captures the heart of our concept: warm, unpretentious, and rooted in the joy of sharing good food.
We’re looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and service-minded Waiter/Waitress to bring this spirit to life for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Greet and seat guests with warmth and genuine hospitality.
- Provide strong menu knowledge, including fresh pasta dishes, daily specials, and wine selections.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
- Serve dishes and drinks promptly and with attention to detail.
- Offer wine pairing suggestions and basic tasting notes (training provided).
- Maintain a clean and welcoming dining environment, including table setup and resetting.
- Anticipate guest needs, monitor satisfaction, and respond to requests quickly.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service flow.
- Handle payments responsibly
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Attention to detail, conduct thorough cleaning on a daily and weekly basis to ensure clean and professional environment is maintained.
Qualifications
- Previous hospitality or restaurant experience preferred; knowledge of wine or Italian cuisine is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and a naturally welcoming, service-oriented demeanor.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
- Self-starter
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Must be at least 18 years old (or meet local requirements for serving alcohol).
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and carry trays, plates, and wine bottles safely.
