About ITO Tours
ITO Tours is a specialist B2B travel company creating bespoke journeys for clients around the world — from tailor-made group and project travel for corporate clients to leisure group travel and B2B FIT bookings. We work closely with a global network of suppliers and preferred partners, and take pride in sharp deals, strong margins and client relationships that last. Ours is a fast-paced, commercially driven, international team where ownership, efficiency and genuine collaboration go hand in hand — and where English is our shared working language.
The Role
As a Group & Project Travel Account Manager, you take the lead on growth across our German- and English-speaking markets, running your own client portfolio from A to Z — and lending a hand on other language markets and to colleagues whenever it's useful. It's a full-time role for someone who thrives on independence, has a sharp commercial instinct, and takes real ownership of results. Above all, we're looking for someone who goes out and finds new business, rather than simply responding to clients who already come knocking.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Sales
- Create and manage tailor-made travel proposals within margin guidelines.
- Actively contribute to profitable bookings and revenue growth for ITO Tours.
- Negotiate with suppliers and secure competitive rates.
- Get the most out of every margin: you know how to optimise it through purchasing, upselling, cross-selling and other creative revenue opportunities — and you put that knowledge into practice.
Client Management & New Business
- Pick up the phone and genuinely listen to existing and new clients to uncover what they really need and where the next opportunity lies — this is deliberately a listening, exploratory role, not just an advisory one, aimed squarely at finding new business.
- Generate client acquisition through multiple channels: not only online and social platforms, but also direct contact — meetings, e-meetings and phone calls.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships, and handle changes, requests, and expectations proactively.
Operations & Execution
- Manage bookings from confirmation through to completion.
- Monitor progress, payments and logistics.
- Resolve issues and handle complaints where necessary.
Administration & Systems
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in NITROS.
- Manage pricing, supplier data, and client information.
- Ensure complete and correct documentation at all times.
Team & Knowledge Sharing
- Share market knowledge and commercial opportunities with the team — and actively help roll this out, so other departments grow along with you.
What We Are Looking For
Requirements
- Full-time availability (1.0 FTE).
- Fluent in German and English, spoken and written.
- MBO+/HBO level or equivalent working experience.
- A demonstrable commercial mindset with a proven ability to sell and actively bring in new business — this is a genuine requirement, not a nice-to-have.
- Experience in travel, hospitality, or another sector where sales and numbers play a central role.
- Based within approx. 20 km of Leidschendam (e.g. The Hague, Rijswijk, Delft, Voorburg, Zoetermeer, Wassenaar, Leiden).
Competencies
- Strong commercial mindset, with a real feel for margin, purchasing and up-/cross-selling.
- High level of ownership and independence.
- Excellent listening and communication skills — you're comfortable picking up the phone and initiating direct client contact.
- Accurate and structured way of working.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects at once, without losing sight of the details.
- A true team player who shares knowledge proactively and helps other departments grow — while owning your own core responsibilities.
What Makes This Role Different
- You're responsible for your own results and profitability across the markets you serve.
- You work as part of a team, but you're expected to operate independently and take the initiative to find new business yourself.
- You contribute directly to ITO Tours' financial performance.
- You take full ownership of your projects — pricing, supplier coordination, administration and follow-up, start to finish.
- Beyond your own portfolio, you help spread commercial insight and best practice across the team and other departments.
What We Offer
- A competitive salary based on experience.
- A performance-based bonus scheme, linked to margin, revenue growth and profitability.
- A dynamic, international working environment.
- Room to grow into a more senior or strategic role.
- Genuine exposure to the travel industry and the chance to build your own supplier network.
