We are looking for an ICT Support Officer - User Support & Service Desk - approx. 37 hours per week, Employee only - 1-year replacement contract
Job description
The ICT Support Officer ensures the reliable day-to-day operation of ICT services and user support.
1. User Support & Service Desk (1st and 2nd Line)
- Provide 1st and 2nd-line ICT support to pedagogical and administrative users
- Support and troubleshoot issues related to Microsoft 365 applications
- Manage the ICT helpdesk, log and resolve tickets, and ensure timely follow-up
- Escalate complex issues to the Head of ICT or central ICT unit (Brussels) and monitor resolution
- Assist users with online meetings and remote/hybrid teaching or meetings via Microsoft Teams
- Provide on-site support where required
- Contribute to ICT projects as requested by the Head of ICT
2. ICT Systems & Infrastructure Support
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software
- Support school ICT systems, including: Printers and multifunction devices and Multimedia systems (presentation, projection, audio/video, communication tools)
3. Webmaster
- Content updates
- Coordination with content owners and external partners if applicable
4. New Software Implementation
- Act as functional owner for new software solutions from a user and business perspective
- Support testing, acceptance, and go-live phases
- Prepare and deliver user instructions, manuals, and guidelines
- Organise training sessions
Examples: Odoo, Tableau, MS Office applications, etc.
Profile
Technical Skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint)
- User account support in Microsoft Active Directory (password resets, group membership)
- Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi fundamentals) with practical troubleshooting capability
- Windows 10/11 user support and troubleshooting
- Hardware support for laptops, desktops, printers, and peripherals
- Classroom technology support (docking stations, interactive displays, presentation equipment)
- Experience with ticketing systems and service desk workflows
- Hardware lifecycle management (setup, imaging, maintenance)
Support & Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to support staff and students with varying technical ability
- Clear and patient communication in a school environment
- Willingness to follow procedures and escalate issues appropriately
- On-site technical support during meetings, lessons, or school events

Requirements
- MBO4 in ICT
- Proven experience in user support (ITIL)
- Proven experience in coordinating the roll-out of new software
- Good organisational and coordination skills.
- Strong communication and reporting skills, including the ability to prepare clear documentation.
- Language skills (C1 Dutch and C1 English are a must, French and German a plus)
Conditions of employment or assignment
- The starting date for the job is as soon as possible;
- The position is for an average of up to 37 hours per week (full time);
- Working days are to be agreed upon;
- Your presence on site is required, you report to the Deputy-Director for Finance and Administration, and the Head of ICT;
- Gross monthly salary is between 3.900 and 6.780 euro depending on knowledge and experience;
- The salary includes any travel expenses; 50% travel allowance only for public transport;
- A one-year replacement contract is offered;
- Up to 100% reduction on your child(ren)’s school fees at the European School Bergen;
- Pension scheme;
- Applicants must own a work permit for the Netherlands;
