At ABF, we hold one of the most extensive bearing stocks in the world a position we've built through consistent growth and a sharp focus on reliability for our customers. Having tripled our turnover in recent years, we're now preparing both our purchasing department and the wider organization for the next phase of growth. This is a genuine opportunity to help shape that transition, with real ownership and the trust to make it your own.
When you picture yourself three years from now, are you still doing this job, or has this job turned into something bigger because of what you did with it?
As a Purchaser, you'll take responsibility for keeping the right products available at the right cost, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to strengthen our supply chain. You'll build the kind of supplier relationships, including with key partners like Schaeffler, that go beyond transactions and open up better terms and new commercial opportunities. You'll also help us move toward more structured, scalable ways of working as we grow.
We're looking for someone who can pick up responsibility quickly and hit the ground running. Someone who thrives on ownership rather than needing constant direction. Your background might be in purchasing, sales, or customer service, ideally within an industrial or technical sector; candidates with bearing industry experience are equally welcome. What matters most is your ability to deliver on goals independently and take real ownership of your area.
-
See the direct result of your work: a better deal, a faster delivery, a supplier who goes the extra mile

-
Represent ABF on business trips and supplier visits (approximately 1–4 times per year)
-
Minimum 3 years experience in a commercial role, purchasing, sales, or customer service. Ideally in an industrial or technical sector; bearing industry experience is a plus
-
Strong negotiation and analytical skills, with a good understanding of pricing
-
Able to work independently and take ownership of results
-
Comfortable operating in a growing, changing organization
-
Fluent in English; Dutch or additional languages are an advantage
ABF is a strongly internationally-oriented trading company, with over 10 million products in stock. This gives you a scale and product range that few purchasing environments can offer. Although the market we operate in is conservative, ABF as a company certainly is not. We're an e-commerce business with a strong IT focus, backed by an in-house development team that improves our systems daily. For you as a Purchaser, that means the tools and processes around you keep evolving too. You won't be stuck working around outdated systems. Only 6% of our customers are located in the Netherlands; the remaining customers are primarily in other European countries and are further fragmented worldwide. This means your sourcing decisions and supplier relationships genuinely shape our ability to serve a truly international customer base.

After a successful first interview, you may be invited to a trainee session of approximately two hours. This session offers you a behind-the-scenes look at ABF, helping you gain a clear understanding of our organization and the role.
-
A background check (VOG) and an assessment may be part of the selection procedure.
Something in your part of the business goes wrong. Do you explain what happened, or are you already fixing it before anyone even asks? If it's the second one, ABF is the place for you. Apply now!
