What will you do? As the technical owner of engine components, you will: - Lead the development of cast iron and aluminum engine parts such as engine blocks, cylinder heads, housings, brackets, covers, and supporting structures. - Translate system and project requirements into robust mechanical designs. - Coordinate development activities with suppliers, manufacturing, testing, purchasing, and quality teams. - Drive design reviews, risk assessments, DFMEA activities, and validation programs. - Analyze component performance and test results to identify improvements and corrective actions. - Ensure designs meet requirements regarding durability, reliability, thermal loads, manufacturability, and cost targets. - Support root-cause investigations and solve technical issues throughout the product lifecycle. - Manage component releases while safeguarding project timing and quality objectives. What do we expect from you? - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline. - Experience in product development of mechanical components. - Knowledge of cast components, manufacturing processes, tolerancing, and validation methodologies. - Experience with supplier collaboration and technical stakeholder management. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to lead technical discussions and coordinate multidisciplinary activities. - Fluent in English. Nice to have - Experience in diesel engines, powertrain systems, or automotive applications. - Familiarity with FMEA, Six Sigma, DFSS, APQP, or similar development methodologies. - Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and structural calculations.
