What to Expect
You will be part of the Systems and Data team in the EMEA Distribution department for Finished Vehicle, Service, Energy and E-commerce. It is an important team in Tesla's Supply chain as we are responsible for End-to-End Systems for all EMEA Distribution operations. The responsibilities of Systems Engineering will focus on (1) Data Science & Analytics and (2) Ideation & Project Management for systems across warehousing, reverse logistics, transportation, and planning. A core part of this role is building prediction models that map the right parts to correction codes for vehicle repairs, and models that map the right correction codes to symptoms and auto-diagnostics performed by the vehicle. You will be working with operations, product managers, data engineers and software engineers to drive automation, increase cost control and ensure compliance across the distribution network. The position sits at the intersection between operations, systems, and data science. Therefore, we are looking for someone motivated with strong technical knowledge in data science, systems and processes combined with strong social skills. It is a dynamic role that requires adaptability, drive, and creativity.
What You'll Do
Your daily tasks will be divided into two categories:
Data Science & Analytics

Build and maintain prediction models that map the right parts to correction codes for vehicle repairs

Develop models that map the right correction codes to symptoms and auto-diagnostics performed by the vehicle

Analyze structured and unstructured repair, parts, and diagnostic data to improve model accuracy and identify process gaps

Partner with operations, service, software engineers and data engineering to validate model outputs and embed them into operational workflows

Monitor model performance over time and iterate based on new repair patterns, parts changes, and diagnostic signals
Ideation & Project Management for Systems

Support Service for Motors and Energy to idea the right processes and systems

Translate these ideas into technical requirements and project plans

Create alignment with all business stakeholders on defined solutions

Create and maintain product roadmaps, project plans, and progress reports

Implement new dashboards, processes, and systems by creating the right training material and support structures
-
Manage one or many programs end-to-end—understanding of all processes, available data, systems gaps, and stakeholders to drive projects holistically

3 to 6 years of experience in Data Science, Engineering, System Product Management or Analytics in Supply Chain / Service

Experience in Python, SQL, machine learning / predictive modeling, Splunk, Power BI, Tableau

Experience applying data science to operational or service problems (e.g. classification, recommendation, or mapping models)

Experience in project management for systems or analytics initiatives

Knowledge of System Architecture, API calls and JSON structures is required

Effective communication skills and diplomacy to work with a multitude of partners with diverse needs and cultural backgrounds

Excellent command of the English language
