Goby Georgian Bistro is the first Georgian restaurant in Rotterdam, located in the beautiful neighbourhood of Kralingen. Our mission is to introduce the warmth, generosity, and authentic flavours of Georgia to our guests. What will you be doing?
As a Waiter / Bartender, you are one of the faces of Goby. You welcome guests with warmth and enthusiasm, guide them through our menu, prepare quality drinks, and ensure every visit is relaxed, enjoyable, and memorable.
Whether you are recommending the perfect Georgian wine, preparing a freshly brewed coffee, mixing cocktails, or serving our signature dishes, your goal is to make every guest feel valued and cared for.
You work closely with both the kitchen and front-of-house team to deliver smooth, professional service while maintaining the welcoming atmosphere that makes Goby unique.
Your Responsibilities
- Welcome every guest with genuine warmth and outstanding Georgian hospitality
- Provide professional, friendly, and attentive table service
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and confidently
- Recommend Georgian dishes, wines, cocktails, and other beverages with enthusiasm
- Prepare and serve coffees, cocktails, wines, beers, and other beverages according to our quality standards
- Ensure responsible service of alcoholic beverages in accordance with Dutch regulations
- Process orders and payments accurately using the POS system
- Keep the restaurant, bar, and service stations clean, organised, and fully prepared throughout the day
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient communication and smooth service
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene
- Handle guest requests and resolve any issues professionally and with a positive attitude
- Help create an atmosphere where guests feel welcomed, relaxed, and eager to return
What are we looking for?
- Experience in hospitality, bar service, or restaurants is preferred, but motivation and the right attitude are just as important
- A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
- Friendly, positive, well-presented, and confident personality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience preparing coffee, cocktails, wine, or other beverages is an advantage
- Willingness to learn about Georgian cuisine, wines, and culture
- A Social Hygiene (Sociale Hygiëne) certificate is preferred
- Good command of Dutch and English
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- A team player who enjoys supporting colleagues and delivering excellent service together
