Introduction
The Legal Corporate & ESG-team is based in Veldhoven and works with a network of ASML in-house counsels globally. The team is part of the ASML Legal & Compliance department, which includes over 100 professionals. The team provides expert legal advice related to a broad array of corporate matters within ASML, such as mergers and acquisitions, investments, restructurings, financing, legal entity management, disclosures, insider trading compliance and intercompany flows. We advise ASML’s ESG and Sustainability functions, providing guidance on sustainability-related matters, concentrating on the environmental and social pillars of ESG. As legal experts, we interpret upcoming laws and regulations and support the organization in understanding its ESG reporting and due diligence obligations.
We have two internships within our team. We aim to give each intern a focus area (corporate or ESG) but both interns will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of business activities of the entire team. Your tasks will be varied and tailored to your background and preferences, ensuring a challenging and enriching experience. You will actively participate in our team's daily operations and contribute to Legal Corporate & ESG’s projects, large and small.
Key elements include:
Apply corporate law in practice through annual compliance processes, document management, shareholder administration, UBO registration, and more;
Get exposure to transactions in Finance and M&A/Venturing, depending on relevance, availability, sensitivity, and complexity.
Support corporate projects with a structured, technology-enabled approach (e.g., tracking actions and deliverables, maintaining templates/know-how, and using Legal AI tools and technologies.
Internship Assignment 2 has an ESG focus.
Key elements include:
Dive into the rapidly evolving ESG regulatory landscape by monitoring, analysing, and interpreting upcoming legislation; use ESG compliance and Legal AI tools to monitor and structure regulatory developments; and translate regulatory and tool outputs into clear, actionable legal guidance and practical advice;
Support project management and stakeholder coordination on ESG topics within Legal & Compliance (e.g., preparing stakeholder updates, tracking action lists, and helping organize working sessions).
Sharpen your legal advisory skills by preparing advice on relevant ESG matters, such as CSRD, CSDDD, EU Packaging, and Packaging Waste Regulation;
Both are a master's-level internships lasting minimum 6 months, working 4-5 days per week (3-4 days onsite in Veldhoven). These internships are not suitable for thesis writing. The start date is around August/September 2026.

To be a fit for these internships, you:
Are a master’s student in Business Law, Corporate Law, Financial Law, European Law, or Law & Technology;
Can structure and summarize complex information into clear outputs (e.g., one-pagers, trackers, stakeholder updates);
Other requirements you need to meet:
You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship ;
Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;
You need to be located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter needs to include the willingness to relocate.
If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
