Internship - Sustainability Reporting Water & Wastewater
Are you a student, passionate about sustainability, and looking for an experience in an international environment?
HEINEKEN is committed to becoming net zero carbon by 2030 (scope 1 & 2) and to reducing its water usage significantly. To achieve this ambition, we run multiple projects, and we want to measure the impact of those projects. That’s when accurate sustainability reporting is essential. As part of this internship, you will support sustainability reporting, coordinate the overall process, provide supporting materials, manage different stakeholders, and review data accuracy and performance.
The internship is based in Schiphol and available on the 1st of September for a duration of a minimum of 6 months.
Your Responsibilities
In this internship, you will:
- Support HEINEKEN Operating companies worldwide with sustainability water and wastewater reporting
- Analyse reporting data, highlight issues, and provide feedback to reporting sites
- Update documentation and guidance on reporting
- Create training materials for our production sites
- Support the development and automation of reports and dashboards to track (waste) water trends and identify improvement opportunities
The Unique You!

- You are currently studying for a master’s or bachelor's degree in environmental sciences (biotechnology, chemical/environmental engineering, etc.), or a similar area
- You have a passion for sustainability and want to make an impact on a global scale
- You have basic knowledge of water and wastewater treatment systems
- You have strong data analytics skills. PowerBI knowledge is appreciated
The Department
The Sustainable Production department (part of Global Production, Supply Chain) consists of a multidisciplinary team, working on different subjects of sustainability of our operations, such as water and energy usage, decarbonization, wastewater management and reporting. The team is made up of professionals from different countries, expertise and academic background with all one goal to make our operations more sustainable.
During your internship you will get the opportunity to get to know HEINEKEN as a company, also outside your department. We give you trust and freedom, so you can work like a real entrepreneur. The terms of employment
The following terms apply:
- Your starting date is 1st September 2026
- The internship is full-time, with a duration of 6 months
- It is a practice-oriented internship
- You will be based in Amsterdam
- During your internship, you have the flexibility to work in a hybrid setup
- You will receive an internship fee of €650 gross pm based on 40 hours per week
You will enjoy 2 vacation days per month (based on full-time)
If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed
