Key Responsibilities:
In line with GAC International’s European business development strategy, take full responsibility for strategic planning, business development, and operational management across the Western & Southern Europe Region, with overall accountability for regional business performance.
Develop medium- to long-term regional development strategies, annual business plans, and key business targets, overseeing sales volume, revenue, profitability, market share, and dealer network development.
Conduct in-depth analysis of the automotive markets, industry policies, new energy vehicle trends, and competitive landscape across key Western and Southern European countries, and develop differentiated regional growth strategies accordingly.
Manage market development priorities and resource allocation across countries at different stages of maturity, driving scalable growth and business breakthroughs in priority markets.
Develop market entry strategies for new markets across the region, including business model selection, partner selection, product introduction, dealer network planning, and launch timelines.
Lead the planning and implementation of National Sales Companies (NSCs), importer/distributor models, and other appropriate business models in priority markets.
Lead the development of key business partnerships and major commercial negotiations, establishing stable and long-term strategic relationships.
Drive the establishment of end-to-end business operations in newly entered markets, from market preparation and brand launch through to full sales operations.
Oversee annual regional wholesale, retail, order intake, and inventory management, driving country teams to achieve their respective business targets.
Guide country teams in establishing effective sales forecasting, S&OP, dealer management, and sales operations systems.
Develop the regional dealer network strategy and drive rapid network coverage across key cities and priority markets.
Continuously enhance dealer sales capabilities, profitability, and operational quality, building a healthy and sustainable dealer network.
Take overall responsibility for brand development across Western and Southern Europe, developing regional brand communication and marketing strategies based on local consumer characteristics.
Oversee major marketing initiatives in priority markets, including brand launches, product launches, public relations, media relations, digital marketing, motor shows, sponsorships, and customer engagement activities.
Drive the localization and execution of headquarters’ global brand strategy across Western and Southern European markets, strengthening local market relevance and acceptance while maintaining consistency with the global brand positioning.
Oversee regional marketing budgets and resource allocation, continuously improving marketing effectiveness and return on investment.
Conduct in-depth analysis of local consumer needs, product preferences, and competitive dynamics, and drive the development of product portfolios and specifications tailored to Western and Southern European market requirements.
Participate in the development of regional product pricing, dealer and channel support programs, market incentives, financial solutions, and promotional strategies to enhance product competitiveness and channel profitability.
Oversee commercial feasibility assessments for new product launches and coordinate with headquarters functions including Product, Pricing, Homologation, Logistics, Marketing, and Aftersales.
Regularly analyze competitor models and actual market transaction prices to provide decision-making support for product and pricing strategy adjustments.
Oversee the regional aftersales strategy and capability development, including aftersales network development, technical support, quality and warranty management, spare parts supply, and customer service, ensuring that aftersales readiness is aligned with business development and product launch timelines in each market.
Guide local entities and importers/distributors in establishing aftersales service networks and operating systems in line with company standards. Establish regional aftersales KPIs and escalation mechanisms for major quality issues, continuously improving service quality, customer satisfaction, and brand reputation.
Drive cross-functional collaboration between Aftersales, Sales, Product, Dealer Network, and headquarters functions including R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain, continuously improving the customer experience throughout the product lifecycle and the overall performance of the aftersales business.
Lead organizational design and talent pipeline development across Western and Southern Europe, building and developing a strong local management team with international capabilities.
Set objectives and manage the performance of Country Heads and other key regional management personnel.
Establish effective collaboration mechanisms across headquarters, regional, and country levels to ensure information transparency and efficient decision-making.
Strengthen cultural integration and management collaboration between Chinese and local European teams.
Take overall responsibility for managing commercial, financial, tax, legal, and compliance risks arising from regional business operations.
Ensure that regional business activities comply with applicable EU and national laws and regulations, as well as the company’s internal governance and management requirements.
Lead the resolution of major business partner issues, operational exceptions, and critical incidents across the region.
Regularly report regional business performance, major risks, and matters requiring headquarters’ decisions or support to company management.
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree or above; a degree in Automotive Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, International Trade, or a related discipline is preferred.
Minimum 15 years of experience in the automotive industry, with senior management experience in a major automotive group, international automotive brand, or new energy vehicle company, including at least 5 years of multi-country management experience in Europe. Experience as an overseas business leader within a Chinese automotive OEM is highly preferred.
Extensive experience in the European automotive market, with strong knowledge of key Eastern and Northern European markets, including their automotive market dynamics, distribution and dealer networks, consumer characteristics, and regulatory environments.
Proven experience as a Regional Head, Country General Manager, senior Sales/Marketing executive, or in a comparable general management role. Experience across OEMs, importers/distributors, dealer groups, or NEV companies is preferred.
Strong capabilities in strategic planning, business management, dealer network development, commercial negotiation, and multinational team leadership.
Strong commercial acumen and results orientation, with the ability to take ownership of regional sales, profitability, and market development targets.
Excellent cross-cultural communication skills and an international mindset, with the ability to effectively bridge and coordinate between headquarters in China and local European teams.
Fluency in English as a working language; proficiency in German or another major language spoken within the region is preferred.
Willingness and ability to undertake frequent business travel within Europe and between Europe and China.
Candidates with strong hands-on European operational experience, proven multinational team leadership capabilities, and the ability to establish highly effective communication and collaboration mechanisms with headquarters in China will be preferred.
