Cybersecurity incidents come unexpectedly and require keen insight and analytical skills. For clients, these moments are crucial, and you can make all the difference. As a Digital Forensic and Incident Response Specialist, you will help our clients maintain peace of mind through a structured investigation so that the impact on business operations remains minimal.
We are looking for a Digital Forensics & Incident Response Specialist who gets energy from helping our clients. Not just reactive but also proactive, this way we not only solve incidents but also want to prevent them. With your help we can increase cyber resilience in the Netherlands!
When an incident occurs, you respond quickly and effectively. You investigate security breaches, analyze cyber attacks, affected systems and devise strategies to prevent damage. You work closely with your colleagues in both incident response and crisis management. You communicate clearly with customers and stakeholders, such as CERTs and the NCSC, and explain technical details in a way that non-technical people can understand. During incidents, you stay calm and focused and make smart decisions under pressure to resolve the situation.
You are also able to secure and investigate digital evidence based on the set investigation context. This is carried out within the legal and forensic frameworks with which you are familiar.
At Bureau Veritas Cybersecurity, the Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR) team operates in both the IT and OT domains. This means you may have to deal with incidents in critical infrastructure such as water management, the power grid or the oil and gas industry. This requires creative thinking and flexibility, as each incident or investigation is unique and requires a customized solution.
What you will perform:
-
When we receive a call from a customer, you will perform triage and start the incident response or digital investigation process. You will analyze threats, coordinate forensic investigations and keep clients informed of progress and actions to be taken;
-
You perform forensic analysis on various types of systems and data carriers to gather evidence and reconstruct attacks;
-
You work with the team to analyze software and systems and understand the underlying structure and functions to identify vulnerabilities or neutralize malware;
-
You will advise clients on planning, training employees and conducting cyber crisis exercises to prepare our clients for future incidents;
-
You stay abreast of new developments in the field, such as attack methods, tools and best practices and apply them to your work;
-
You will work closely with a team of experienced incident responders, crisis management consultants, business continuity specialists and IT/OT security experts.
You recognize yourself in the following:
-
You have a strong interest in cybersecurity and have gained experience through internships, projects or employment around incident response. In addition, you have knowledge of digital forensics and are motivated to develop further in this area;
-
You have an interest in cloud security and OT and are willing to expand your knowledge in these areas. Knowledge of application security or SOC/SIEM implementation is a plus, but not required;
-
You enjoy helping to improve our services, optimizing processes for ourselves and our customers;
-
You are motivated to obtain relevant certifications, such as GCIH, GCFA or Private Investigator (yellow pass). If you already have these certifications that is an advantage!
-
You can communicate clearly in both Dutch and English, both orally and in writing;
-
You understand that incidents are unpredictable and are willing to assist outside of regular working hours to support customers when needed.
