About the position

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Junior Academic Officer to join our evolving team. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a pioneering student-focused environment, ensuring that administrative processes are efficient and student and faculty needs are met. Key responsibilities:Admissions
1. Application Review & Quality Assurance
- Review incoming applications for academic eligibility & completeness
- Administer the admission testing process for applicants without standard qualifying diplomas
- Coordinate English-language proficiency testing and apply minimum standards
- Own the final academic admissions decision
2. Premaster & Pathway Assessment
- Support premaster pathway eligibility for MSc Business Psychology & Management and MSc Applied Sustainability Management
- Support credit transfer and exemption requests
3. Cross-Functional Liaison
- Liaise with the International Office on applicant documentation.
- Coordinate with Marketing & Recruitment on applicant flow, while retaining independent admissions authority
- Report on incoming cohort quality to the Academic Director
Department Assistance
1. Academic Administration & Coordination
- Support the organisation of academic meetings, workshops, and events
- Assist with maintaining shared academic office calendars, deadlines, and task trackers
- Help compile and distribute programme and institutional documentation
2. Freelance Contracting
- Draft and manage ZZP contracts for freelance faculty, approximately 50 per year, and other freelance or contracted roles within the Academic Office
- Maintain contract templates and ensure compliance with Dutch freelance and ZZP regulations
- Track contract status, renewals, and terms across all freelance engagements
3. Invoicing & Payment Issue Resolution
- Manage and resolve freelancer invoicing disputes
- Act as point of contact between freelancers and finance for payment queries
- Maintain records of contracted deliverables against invoiced work to prevent disputes
4. Onboarding Support
- Support contract-related onboarding steps for new freelance lecturers and coordinators, working alongside the Academic Officer's lecturer onboarding materials
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Business, Education, Marketing, Communication and/or work experience which shows equivalent expertise
- Basic experience in admissions roles
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal English, Dutch would be advantageous
- You have intermediate skills in project management and problem solving
- You are interested in the workings and makings of international education
- You are a stickler for detail
- You are energetic and enthusiastic, with an open mindset for change
