RIF Europe B.V. is looking for an experienced and motivated Ocean Import Forwarder to join our growing team.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing ocean import shipments from A to Z. You negotiate freight rates, coordinate shipments, maintain close contact with customers, shipping lines, overseas agents, and transport providers, and ensure every shipment is handled accurately and efficiently.

Your responsibilities
As an Ocean Import Forwarder, you are responsible for the complete import process from start to finish.
Your responsibilities include:
- Managing ocean import shipments from A to Z
- Negotiating freight and transportation rates
- Coordinating and recording freight and transport costs
- Booking, planning, and managing shipments
- Managing bookings with subcontractors according to customer agreements
- Tracking shipments and providing proactive Track & Trace updates
- Resolving operational and transport-related issues
- Preparing and maintaining transport documentation
- Optimizing transport solutions while balancing service quality and profitability
- Handling invoicing
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience as an Ocean Import Forwarder
- Has MBO/HBO working and thinking level
- Experience with CargoWise is a strong advantage
- Has strong knowledge of ocean import operations, including FCL and LCL shipments
- Is resilient under pressure and solution-oriented
- Has excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Has a hands-on, proactive attitude
- Is result-driven and able to prioritize while managing multiple shipments
- Works accurately and pays close attention to detail
- Has an excellent command of the English language (spoken and written)
- Is flexible and enjoys working in a dynamic international environment
- Is a team player who contributes to the success of the entire team
