Your work
As a Lead Mechanical Engineer at IQIP, you will guide the mechanical engineering process from concept to delivery for large and technically complex equipment used in foundation and installation projects. You will act as the main technical contact for mechanical systems, lead a team of engineers, and ensure that design solutions meet functional, safety, and quality standards. Your leadership ensures that projects are completed efficiently, with innovation and integrity, and are ready to perform in the world’s most demanding offshore environments.
Your responsibilities
Lead mechanical design efforts in multidisciplinary project teams
Translate functional requirements into mechanical concepts and final designs
Guide and coach a team of mechanical engineers throughout the engineering process
Review and approve technical documentation and 3D models (Solid Edge)
Monitor compliance with design standards, regulations, and safety requirements
Interface with production, service, and project management to ensure practical and feasible designs
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and client meetings
Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in our engineering processes
Your profile
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, preferably in offshore or heavy equipment
Proven leadership skills and experience mentoring engineers
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics and structural components
Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferably Solid Edge
Familiar with engineering standards and certification rules (e.g., DNV, Lloyd’s)
Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English
Analytical, structured, and quality-oriented mindset
