Do you want to work in a high tech environment where innovation is not a promise, but daily practice? At Salland Engineering, you work on technology for testing the chips of tomorrow. You will have access to state of the art tooling, modern test facilities and an environment where your own ideas, creativity and initiative are valued.
Salland Engineering is growing fast. This year, we are doubling our effective workspace, further expanding our testers and investing heavily in new technologies, including innovation in the field of photonics. As part of a global player in the semiconductor test market, we combine international strength with the freedom and short lines of communication of Salland in Zwolle.
As a Software Configuration Engineer, you ensure that our software development remains manageable, reliable and well organized. In a high tech environment where multiple development tracks, versions, changes and releases run alongside each other, you are the one who brings structure and maintains overview. In doing so, you play an important role in the quality, progress and collaboration within the software team.
You work closely with developers, project management and system administration, and support the setup, management and improvement of the processes and tools that are essential to software development. This includes version control, change management, bug tracking and the automation of build and release processes. With your knowledge and approach, you help increase efficiency, strengthen collaboration and further safeguard the quality of our software projects.
What you will be doing in your role:
-
Version Control: Managing and optimizing our version control tools (Subversion, Git) to enable developers to work efficiently on different features and easily return to previous versions when needed;
-
Change Management and Bug Tracking: Facilitating a structured change management process using Jira, ensuring that changes are introduced in a controlled and documented manner, and managing bug tracking to reduce the risk of conflicts and errors;
-
Build and Release Process Automation: Managing Jenkins for the automation of build and release processes, allowing our engineers to focus on their core tasks;
-
Collaboration: Promoting a culture of collaboration by providing clear procedures and tools for version control, documentation and issue tracking, which are essential for effective team dynamics and project execution. In addition, you work closely with system administration on tool updates to limit risks;
-
Quality Assurance: Ensuring consistency and high quality in the management of configuration items, following best practices and using Jira and Jenkins to support the overall quality of our software projects;
-
Communication: Acting as the central point of information on configuration status, changes and bug tracking, so that team members have easy access to up-to-date and relevant information;
-
Innovation: Continuously exploring new technologies, processes and methodologies to optimize software development and management processes.
