Engineering Projects Manager Small Works - dsm-firmenich - Delft
Role Purpose
The IFM Minor/Additional Works Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, control and delivery of a high‑volume portfolio of low‑value capital and operational works across a multi‑site office and laboratory estate.
The role focuses on managing multiple concurrent small works that do not typically require a dedicated Project Management team. It ensures works are delivered safely, compliantly and efficiently within live, operational environments including technically sensitive laboratory spaces while meeting client governance, budget and program expectations.
Key Accountabilities – Minor Additional Works Delivery & Portfolio Management
Manage a rolling pipeline of small works across office and laboratory facilities Prioritize works in line with business criticality, operational risk, compliance requirements and available funding Coordinate multiple simultaneous works across sites, suppliers and stakeholders Maintain control of program dates and ensure timely completion of works
Client & Stakeholder Management
Act as day‑to‑day point of contact for client representatives, FM teams and lab users
Communicate complex technical information clearly to non‑technical stakeholders
Manage expectations on scope, cost and program
Handle issues and complaints professionally
Commercial & Cost Control
Manage multiple small budgets concurrently
Validate contractor quotations against schedules of rates and benchmarks
Track commitments and forecast final cost
Support cost efficiency through packaging of works
Supplier & Contractor Management
Monitor contractor quality, H&S and compliance
Ensure adherence to office and laboratory protocols
Input into supplier performance reviews
Health, Safety & Compliance
Promote high standards of Health & Safety
Review RAMS proportionate to risk
Coordinate permits, shutdowns and isolations
Ensure compliance with dsm-firmenich SHE governance and requirements.
Ensure statutory compliance including HVAC, fire and lab safety system
Reporting & Close‑Out
Provide regular status updates on cost, programme and risk
Maintain trackers and audit trails
Ensure effective handover into FM operations
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Experience coordinating small works in IFM or facilities environments
Strong organisation, communication and commercial awareness
Desirable:
Experience in office or laboratory environments
Familiarity with schedules of rates and term contracts
